Metalhead, Gamer, Linux Geek, Internet Professional, that's me.
I know quite a bit about my heritage, as my Mother is an avid genealogist. From what I know, I've got a little bit of Swedish, Finnish, Russian, German, British, Scottish, Irish and Welsh in me, and I may have some Slovenian and Huguenot (French Protestant, who historically fled France to Germany to escape Religious persecution).
My favorite non-elective subjects in school were English and History, which probably explains my taste in music, which will often have a lot of references to historical events, different cultures and literary works. A lot of it is J.R.R. Tolkien, H.P. Lovecraft, and certain Poets such as Edgar Allen Poe (one song I can think of has a narration in it that's a line in The Pit and the Pendulum). Its Heavy Metal, so what would you honestly expect?
I really love to sing along to songs I listen to (in private though, I'm a bit shy) and would love to be a vocalist in a Metal band someday. I just need to work on my confidence in my voice and on my technique.
I actually started doing vocal covers recently. Here is my latest one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3a02zuL5xQ. It's Children of Bodom's "Angels Don't Kill", done with a mix of traditional clean vocals and black metal style harsh vocals.
More vocal covers can be found on my YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/blananar) as well as a show I've started doing recently.
