My name was Lost. I was once a spiritual leader for a 16,000-member parish. I was pushed and pulled on everyday. Men and women were coming to me all the time for advice. I had a full time secretary, cook, housekeeper, parish council, and a board of 15 men and women in the professional field. I was catered to and loved by so many in heart-warming ways. All of these things disappeared in an instant when I decided to follow God's will in finding holiness and happiness in life. The road I am traveling on can at times be lonely, narrow, and difficult...
Sometimes, like a fighter pilot whose jet is being blown out of the skies, things happen for a reason and in the midst of my struggles, I become a stronger person. The great value of being blown out of the skies once in a while is that it helps me to re-examine my value system in life. Things are no longer handed to me. I no longer walk around with a silver spoon in my mouth. Now I have to face everyday challenges and rise from bed every morning with faith, trust, and courage in God one day at a time. Daily, I work with military men and women who too find themselves in similar situations as mine. They were soldiers and commanders who once have goals, hopes, dreams, and a bright future ahead just like me when all of a sudden those les and prestige dissipated because their vehicles were blown up by an IED. Many came home suffering from Traumatic Brain Injuries or Post Traumatic Stress Disorders. Many find themselves weighed down suddenly by a terminal illness. Now they are confined to a bed and the four walls closing in feeling sad, desperate, and hopeless. And somehow for some reasons God chose a guy like me to bring hope and healing to these men and women. I can relate and identify with each of these heroes when I sit down and listen to their stories. He chose one like me who have experienced rock bottom to be his instrument to minister to his poor, broken, downtrodden, and diseased people.
My name was Lost. I am now Found!
