I just finished a bachelor's degree in Sociology, and a term of service working with the Washington Reading Corps branch of the Americorps. It was a great time, and I am going to miss it. I loved the kids I worked with, the school, and my Co-Workers. I am currently on the job hunt, trying to find something to add to my skill set and hopefully something that will allow me to head back to school for a Master's degree.
In my free time I knit/crochet, hike, bike ride, and would like to take up volleyball again. I also enjoy ballroom dancing, especially east coast swing.
I love music, most any kind. It gets me through my commute every day. My favorite band is Muse, although I frequently enjoy clical music--Beethoven, Mozart, Liszt, etc--rock, alternative, and sometimes pop. I enjoy musicals and opera, and also those crazy campy songs you just can't help singing along with, i.e. Rock Lobster.
I enjoy reading. Right now I'm mulling over A Brave New World. Its an interesting take on the future. Next I want to read a Utopian view, to compare. Also, just finished re-reading Pride and Prejudice and can I just say, I would not mind beung Miss Elizabeth Bennet.
Also, I am a nerd, most notably for Harry Potter. Its a weakness, what can I say! :-) One of my top 5 books is To Kill a Mockingbird. I read it at least once a year and it just keeps getting better every time.
Movies are also something I enjoy. Lately, a little too much. Thank you netflix. I like smart comedies, British shows, action, period dramas...well, a good mix of stuff. I have a great memory for character/actor names in a movie. My friends would tell you not to bet me on who's who. Most likely I'm right :)
I love my friends, and I love to laugh. I have a quirky sense of humor that gets set off on the darndest things sometimes. I love it though. It keeps me weird, the way I like it.
Ask my whatever you want, and good luck finding what you're looking for!
