I grew up in upstate New York and spent my adult years as a mother and a nurse. Retired a few years ago. I love to read,go for long country drives (favorite season is autumn), candlelight, laughter, and love. I've never let the negative things in life get me down and keep alive an eternal hope that I will meet my one and only and that the relationship will start as a great friendship that just gets better and better. I have children and my oldest daughter is an author. Her career is so interesting and she is one of my dearest friends. I'm a woman who believes in speaking out about what I feel-- I've sort of let go of that old 1950s mentality that says one should have a "stiff upper lip" and make it through life without uttering a word to the contrary when things do go wrong. I truly would love to meet someone who is outgoing, who isn't afraid to laugh at themselves and get a little silly. I do enjoy dancing and dining out and even a quick cup of coffee. To get it over with, the subject of sex is really not my main thing to discuss and I am not at all interested in meeting for an "intimate encounter" so please don't let your mind go there at all. As I said, I am interested in friendship first and maybe meeting after after several phone conversations (that will help us determine if we are even halfway compatible). I am also not into religion (organized religion, that is) I do believe that there is a higher power and that love is the most important thing in this world or the next.
