I get a lot done in life and I can be lazy on the couch at times (football). I like to be a good person. It is an enjoyable way of being. I realize, that I may be a bit different from most folks. But maybe that is why you love me. For Example: In 2012, I walked from San Diego to Washington D.C. MY Story. I will start from the beginning. I was born in San Francisco, California. I grew up in Palo Alto. I was a pretty wild kid, and I landed in juvenile Prison. I was smart, and a good fighter, so I did o.k. I grew up in a well-to-do neighborhood. I was taught good manners, please and thank you, always open the door for a lady, and get her chair (if you can remember). Also, I was lucky enough to received private ice skating lessons as a child. As an adult, I have a perfect record. When I was 17 years old, I hitch-hiked to Key West, Florida. I got a job on a shrimp boat. I was a commercial fisherman for 10 years. I worked in Florida, the Gulf of Mexico, and Alaska. After fishing, I worked in Hollywood for 10 years. I was a Local 80 Grip,(I.A.T.S.E.) I worked on about (50 each), Major Films, T.V. Shows, Commercials, and Rock Videos. I moved to Salem, Oregon, where I went back to school. I attended Chemeketa Community College, and Willamette University. I had excellent grades. I was a year from law school. Then one day the gov. cut my funding. I was out. As a result, I could not make my montage, so I just sold my house for a big loss. I moved to Humbolt, California. To finish school, at a less expensive University. But, some meth heads stole the generator out from under my motor home and f*cked up everything. So, it is a good thing that I enjoy lemonade. I moved back to Salem and went disc-golfing for a few years. In between all of that, I have also done a lot of custom woodworking at a cabinet shop. I worked in a logging camp. I worked with horses some. I grew a lot of bud. I attended a lot of Greatful Dead Concerts. And, I have traveled throughout most of the US, a little Canada, and a little Mexico. Past Relationships. I do not really want to talk about past relationships, but I want you to know who I am. During my fishing years, I just had fun. When I worked in Hollywood I was with a great women for eight years. We got married and divorced in year nine. In Salem I was with a beautiful women for ten years. We raised her two boys together. They are wonderful adult peoples now. I am still friends with my exes. We don`t really talk or see each other anymore. But, if one us needs help, we can call. I lived with one other women in Salem for five years. She got married recently and Invited me to the wedding. If you have shared years of love with someone, it`s o.k. to still care about their wellbeing or their happiness. If you have children, and you need to interact, and have good communications with the ex, then you know I will understand. The children`s needs are always the priority. The one common denominator in all of this, is me. I have been the luckiest person in the world, as far as relationships, adventure, learning, and just everything, but I have been so busy, that my family life has paid the price. With commercial fishing I was gone for months at a time. Hollywood was sixteen hours a day, and months on location. Going to the University dominates your thoughts and your time. But, I still got the boys to track and field practice every day, and ran the warm up mile with them. I Built them a nice office, and helped with their home work. life is good. So now you know most of my life story in one page. Back In Salem After the motor home disaster, I decided to bag the quest for law school. And just chill out for awhile. I have been goofing off for the last five years, playing disc golf, walking across the country, protesting, and doing some serious research for the book. The walk is an epic story, and I am ready to write. I bought a beautiful kayak, and all of the gear for two. But, I don`t take it out much, because it makes me lonely, wishing you there were with me. My father told me once, "son, if you want to get lucky in life, you must get yourself off of the couch, go out and try to do something, then you will give yourself a chance to get lucky". Well, I am up off of the couch now, and I am searching for you. And trying to get lucky. I am seeking a women who wants to share in a true relationship together. About The Walk. We Occupied at the State Capital for two months. After that, we cleaned up spotless, and spread some fresh bark dust for the plants. We proudly had zero arrest in Salem. Then we had a meeting off about 200 people at the library, to discuss ideas for Occupy 2.0. People gave presentations, and people signed up to different committees. An Elder of the Lakota Tribe, invited me to join a group of people in San Francisco. To participate in the longest walk. This was a group of people from the American Indian Movement, Veterans Groups, and Occupy Wall Street. The walk was called, the Leonard Peltier Walk For Human Rights. The goal was to walk across, from Alcatraz to D.C. As they did on the original Longest Walk back in 1978. The walk did not make it out of Cali. We tried to restart in San Diego, but it did not go. So, a friend of mine from Occupy Salem Oregon and I walked across Cali together. Then I walked the rest by myself, 3,200 miles total. I pushed a cart with water, food, and supplies. I had orange safety flags, but no signs. I talked with hundreds of people along the way. They would see me and ask me "what are you doing", I would reply "walking to D.C.", they would ask me "why", and I would reply "what issue is closest to you ?, that is why I am walking". Without a word I would listen to what they had to say. Then we had many long and in-depth discussions, about what is the problem, and what are the effects of such problem, and what are the possible solutions. I kept good journal notes and I have an obligated to write the book. Many people are counting on me to represent. I just finished one year of research, and I am ready to write. I am covering all of this, because it affects our future. I have about six months of writing, then learning the publishing world, then driving across the route, and probably some promotional touring time. About The Present. This is a perfect time for me to make a fresh start in life. To take a break from the computer for awhile. To get outside for exercise. And, to put all of my energy into finding you. I realize the challenge of my finding my match. I feel like that little puppy dog, who was wandering around in the cold and wet, covered in mud, lonely and hungry. He had a little sign around his neck, "Free To A Good Home". Not many women wanted to take him in. They did`t like mud, or they have no time for a project. They only relate to an Alfa male who ready to rock. Some wanted to take him in, but he just wasn`t their type of puppy. And some of them were just into cat`s. But, this one sweet lady. She could see his beauty behind all of the mud. She took the puppy in. She fed him, she nurtured him and showed him some love. That puppy cleaned up real nice. And won the blue ribbon at the State Fair. Now she has an appreciative, and loyal, new best friend forever. Loneliness got me writing goofy story now. probably make a good kids book. The point is. I need some love, some inspiration, and some fresh motivation. I need to make you feel loved, and put a smile on your face. I need to eat good for awhile, and exercise. Then I can work on the book. I have a year of heavy listing to do on the book. But, I do not want to fall back to the working 16 hours a day routine. Maybe like 6 hours day on the computer. Some time for us in the kitchen together. The rest of the day is available for whatever. We are both here seeking a life together, and wanting to make a commitment to each other. I know I sound like I am in a big hurry, (and I am), but I also realize that we should take the proper time with tings, to get to know each other. Our Future Together. To share in our common interest. To spend quality family time together. If it is just the two of us, or a houseful. We all talk about loving the beach, but how often do we actually go. I would like to make a point of walking down the beach together holding hands. To put the kayak in the lake. To ride bikes around or go skating. Whatever it is we both enjoy doing. Also go to a nice restaurant and some dancing. Finding a good balance, so we can fit these things in. I would like to focus on good health, exercise, and diet (nothing extreme),but I need your help with this, and hope you like to do this together. I must put in my fair share of activism time. This is my 9 - 5, so to speak. Right now it is all about the book. After that I will always consult with you, before committing to any actions. Hopefully you will want to participate some. Or maybe help keep me in check, from getting out of balance. You have your own interest and I will support in those as well. If you tell me something, I will listen. If you have a better idea, then I will change mine. You probably maintain a good balance in life already. I need to improve. It is hard to talk about the future without knowing what you are into. Tell me if dream of a house in the country, with a couple acres? Do you like to do vegetable gardens ? Are you into animals ? Do you want an art studio ? Are your a photographer who wants to live by the sea. Do you have a profession which you are committed to, and need to stay put? Are you wanting a complete change ? Are you in a beautiful place and just want a partner to join you ? I am open to all ideas. If you like to travel, pick a place, and we will find a way to get there. I took a class in ballroom dancing once. I`m not great, but I really enjoyed it. Is there something you really love to do, but need a partner. I have the kayak and all of the gear for two. Are we having fun yet !!! Reality Check. Now that I have pointed out all of my skill sets, all of the good and wonderful qualities which are Doug Boone, in the interest of full disclosure, I must reveal my down side as well. So, how dose one criticize oneself, let me count the ways. I am currently poor. I have got the bills covered, but I little for play time. I live in an unfished house, which is fine for me, but would require finishing the remodel, for more people. I have no experience in the kitchen. I have a low skill set with food. If want the strong fit man, which you so desire, then I need help with a good diet. I am not asking to be taken care of, just speaking truth. I have been staying up half the night, on the computer. I would rather be in bed cuddled up next to you, both of us satisfied, and sleeping. I gotsta get some scheduling` goin` on. I`ve been paying into a dental plan and I`m ready to get all polished up. I smoke cigarettes and I am ready to quit. About You. I love you, can I have a hug. Do you know anything about chakras or such. Will you share with me what your wants and needs are, so that I can make you happy. Do you like holding hands and walking on the beach. I love you just the way you are. Are you a writer ? do you want to write a book together. ? -----ask questions about her interest, work, hobbies, etc.----- -----need to address, and ask questions about family size, children, current location or relocating, etc.----- -----add some deep thoughts----- A Tribal elder explained to me that we now seven billion people on the planet. If we want clean air, and clean safe drinking water for the grandchildren`s children, then we must all act now. I walked through the bible belt. I met many wonderful church folks. I decided to write my "phamous quote" in there honor. "I do not act righteous, because I am threatened with hell. I do not act righteous, because I am bribed with heaven. I act righteous, because it is the righteous way to act, period". DB Thank you Mother Earth and Father Spirit. The most enjoyable part of life is making someone happy. Weed, alcohol, and drugs. I like to smoke a little bit of weed most days. I like to drink an IPA or two, probably twice a month. In the summertime, I will participate in the beer pong with the relative's, or I will help slam a thirty pack at the lake. In the Winter time I enjoy hot drinks with rum. At weddings I love that good French champagne. I don`t really drink much, so I am usually the designated driver. I never drink and drive. If we are at a music festival, and the energy is right, we might eat a few mushrooms. That Is all. What do you think of this ? Also, I stay away from Big-Pharma drugs, I don`t drink soda pop, and I don`t eat at fast food (once in a blue moon). -----maybe add a poem----- -----maybe add a joke----- -----music and the arts----- I like all types of music. I like everything except for in the gym, but if that`s you, I will reconsider. -----travel----- Do you have any travel dreams ? My brother and I, and friends, like to disc golf locally. Our family will gather for disc golfing in Oregon, in Cali, or at Lake Tahoe.
