Just curious, how many still open the car door for a woman? In 13 yrs my ex never did. Then with the guy I"m with now, does all the time.Get this he even ordered my dinner for me,not picked what I ate just asked and said the lady will have...I never had that happen, kinda threw me for a bit.So how many still do this? Isnt that just plain and simply part of being a "man" and not just some guy? its the way i was raised and dont forget.. listen, never raise a hand no matter how mad or right you are. flowers sent to her work just because you were thinkin of her.. chivalry isnt dead... it is being forgotten tho |

Opening doors, pulling out chairs, helping with coats, man on the curb side when walking, it's still all done. I do it no matter how long I'm with a woman. Acting the gentleman is not something done at the start of dating just to impress a woman, that's being deceptive. Being a gentleman is part of one's character and is a behavior that does not fade with time. I could not express my intentions any better ... I will sit over here ... |

I hold doors open for girls or anyone really. I would open the car door.. I do it for my mom sometimes.. I've never been on a date where I used my car or went out to eat so i can't really answer the main question sorry.

I'd accept, but the last woman I was married to proposed to me while we were on a Caribbean Cruise. I accepted and we were married a few months later. She walked out after one year explaining; "I spent too many years single and I don't like living in a partnership". So as I said, I'd accept..but..... |

i like it when a guy has good manners.
i have to admit, it has always impressed me when a man holds a door open for me. this shows his respect...i like that! |

i dont. i open doors for others to be polite. dont think ive ever pulled a chair out and pushed it in. i know i havent opened any car doors for anyone. i helped a few people lift some stuff in their trunk recently cause they needed some extra hands for the rope. i dont think im rude, i just dont like women who cant open doors or operate chairs.

It's just plain manners.
I just love most of the (so called) Old Fashion gestures. I will hold a door for a GUY if I have the chance. I will ask how you are AND wait for an answer intently. Getting up when a lady leaves the table is not just out of respect for her.......it's out of respect for yourself! I'm not sure about anyone else, but I think the world could use a few more pleases and thank yous........EVEN IF IT WON'T HELP YOUR CHANCES OF GETTING LAID! |
