I was talking to a guy from another country last night, Scotland to be exact, who moved to the states several years ago... and he happened to comment that "he's not like American Men" I asked him what makes him different and he says "thoughtful, respectful, caring, trustworthy, honest, and dependable". So I asked him " you don't think American Men act like that?" He said he hasn't met one yet... I found it kind of strange that he would think of Americans like that...

the world has different opinions of america. I think there is good and bad every where.

Probably overheard too much locker room garbage. There are gentlemen and creeps everywhere. He was stereotyping, and probably thought he could use it to his advantage, assuming you'd been treated poorly by an American fellow.

I didnt even know Scotland was still around. I thought someone took them over, sold them off for parts, and kept the alcohol and bagpipes. Probably a fake profile.

Ditto, to cute down the men in America does not make him very thoughtful or respectful of others by stereotyping all American Men. There is not a place in this world you will find anyone perfect. To me when someone right off the bat starts putting anyone down that is a red flag to me. They are trying to make themselves look better wrong move.

"thoughtful, respectful, caring, trustworthy, honest, and dependable". This guy is "thoughtful" yet so "thoughtful he's that narrow-minded. "Respectful"? yet his remark dis'd all American men. "Trustworthy"? yet he shows clear predjudice. "Honest"? yet it's obvious his words are not true. "Dependable"? Well, he may have us on that one!
