Topic: Lynns surgery update | |

Well, I got up okay and got her there on time. Four o clock came awful early.
I prayed many times yesterday and many more times this morning and on the way there as well AS there. She went in surgery about 8:30 am this morning and they called us around 10:15 to tell us all was going well that as of that moment it was looking pretty good. And that he was still in the process of taking more biopsies of her lumph nodes. Many many nodes. The Dr came up to us about 11:30 and brought with him pictures of what he did. They were awesome! He told us he didn't see cancer with his eyes, but found lesians that he removed, showed them to us and explained what he did and was doing. He said they may be pre cancer and we will know Friday. Anyway....he found lesians and scars on her liver that had been there due to a really bad infection at some time. He tried to remove those and clean them up. He also found something, I am not sure what it was right now...but it was near her kidneys. He took it. He took all the lymph nodes on her main artery close to her stomach and below. Where it is one big one artery then turns into two, like a fork in the road. Cleaned it up and took her appendix because of the location to the cancer and the cells that grow and scatter. It is a place where it gathers and grows spreading out and does its damage. He took the nodes there as well. He also removed her...her......uhhhhh...her, damnit....It begins with the letter "m" and it is a fatty part inside of us that stores nutrition and releases it if we go without food for long. he took it all out. (her question is this, "does that mean I am going to be hungry all the time!??") He also showed us where he removed and cleaned up places that are near where our female organs and genitalia are. There was much more than that but, I am going on a couple of hours of sleep, so forgive me for my ignorance. She is awake (most of the time) and thirsty as hell, but in good spirits. She has a big tube coming out of her stomach right now which drains all the blood that is inside of her. It was a bit scary to see when they emptied it into a plastic glass. A lot of blood. I hope she isn't going to be anemic! Keeping fingers crossed and hopes high that all will be well after this. He said that if they find anymore cancer...from her lymph nodes she will be in Chemotherapy. Positivity peoples! Keep it coming. We need ya. Love to all of you. Kat |

I feel good, but apprensive. It all falls on the lymph nodes and the stuff he took out. Come on tests! Be negative! If they are, then she will be on the way to recovery.
All she wants is to get back to work and take her life back. Kat |

Lovely.... all is as it is supposed to be...and Lynn will be fine... She will struggle a little...that's when she needs you... save your indominable spirit and strength for whatever comes next, not worry about what MAY be....deal with what is... that's your job. I can't help but smile when I see you... I love you so very much Kat. Now Jess....wanna talk about a smile? You just gave me one. Your words give me strength, calm, and a reminder that I can draw on myself to live up to what I have believed myself to be. A strong a loving sister that will and can be the one she needs to lean on. She looks to me for answers and expects me to be there. To know what she needs to know. I try. I am not really all that good at it, but she thinks I am. I just left her again. She is in pain and has the pump and a regular pain med going in the IV. She has not used the pump yet. SHE SAYS...LOL No..I believe her. The blood coming out of her tube is just aweful. They said something about her wearing it home and taking care of it herself. She said an emphatically and resounding "NO"! I am not doing that. (I do not blame her.) Her woo woo hurts some. They had to remove things that way as well. She has been through so much. It is time for her to have a healthy and comfortable life. She really has been in pain for so long. Her poor body has been envaded every which way lately. She has that new big scar from the last surgery and now the base ball diamond on her belly AND her toosh. Not to mention that hole in her belly button. It is pooled with blood. That scared me a bit. I was "what the hell!??" I told her if she had to wear it home and it came time to pull it out I would put a pillow over her head and she could hold on to the headboard and I would close my eyes and PULL!!! Then it would be done.lol That look she gave me....oh well. Just trying to help? Lee. Thank you for the pep talk. I still worry. It still hurts to know she deserves so much more than she is getting. She isn't seeing me worry. But...she does see my face. It is ALL broke out! My forehead. Jeeeze. Not pimples...just hard red bumps like them. I told her if she wasn't going to use the pain meds in the pump to try and get it out and bring it home with her. I need some sleep. I love you as well my friend. Kat |

And this, my lovely, is when your strength and resilience is required.... for you are the practical one... this is when you rise to the top, dear Kat...
This is your purpose... your whole life is and has been devoted to the care and comfort of another... And I know without a doubt, Lynn is in good hands. |
