yeah, used to feed my ex-wife's cat boiled eggs if he ran out of food and i couldn't make it to the store. he is still alive and well. they say it makes a dog's coat shinier to feed them eggs.

I know some foods are bad for cats and could be deadly.
I've heard some foods like onions, chocolate, tuna, etc. are bad for cats. I just wanted to make sure it was alright, because I have some hard boiled eggs, and I don't really care for them. I figured if it wouldn't hurt, I could give them to the cat instead of throwing them away. |

Is it alright to let a cat eat hard boiled egg? my cat used to eat whatever it got its paws on. cheese, burger meat, pepperoni, broccoli... as long as it wasn't chocolate or something with bread in it, he was fine. in fact, he liked some of the stuff SO much that the filthy little beggar would steal them right out of my hand. that went especially for french fries, which he would glom off of me at a moment's notice. even more amazing was the fact my cat lived to twenty years of age, too. So yeah- I'd think eating hard-boiled eggs is perfectly fine for a cat. |

I try to keep him on a strict cat food only diet, but I give a nice little treat every once in while.
I'll give him a little bit, not too much though. Thanks for the replies. |

He seems to know whats bad for him, because he'll avoid things like onions, chocolate, etc. |

funnily enough, my cat's even eaten a piece of onion or two and he's come away just fine too. if anything, he wouldn't eat raw onions, but that's mostly because of the smell.
if I remember correctly, my cat had even eaten a maraschino cherry, too. |

What drove my cat absolutely bonkers was "Greenies for Cats". Not the potentially-dangerous ones for dogs (that at least used to have a risk of getting caught in their windpipes and stuff), but the ones for cats, which are safe.
If catnip is like marijuana for cats, then this stuff is like crystal meth- they can't stay away from the stuff. I didn't even have to open the baggie one time- I started to rip the bag open, which was enough for my cat to get a whiff of Greenies, which made him tear the baggie up himself! And my cat was going on eighteen years of age at the time, too. I just wish my cat was still around. He was a good friend. |
