what has not been brought into light her is
prayers do work but they are not a free get out of trouble ticket there has to be some penance paid to build your strength in your belief's and only after fulfilment in belief's and true conviction may things be answered |

"Too bad those war torn places of Africa riddled with famine and children dying horrible deaths are not praying correctly. If he hears them the same, I really think he should have sent the lap top there so they could trade it for some rice." a quote from another thread...anyone care to address this? There really is not much credence or respect I'd pay to this statement. It's full of judgment and hypocrisy. |

"Too bad those war torn places of Africa riddled with famine and children dying horrible deaths are not praying correctly. If he hears them the same, I really think he should have sent the lap top there so they could trade it for some rice." a quote from another thread...anyone care to address this? Here you go, Yellowrose, from Silicon Valley hell People all around me grew up in this environment and in the course of employing themselves in jobs that were available and scarce at the time in the 70-80s found themselves in the right place at the right time. The stock options and yearly shares of stock given them were the very thing that made 100,000s filthy rich around here. I am in construction and a multiple divorcee cit in half so many times that my momentum is not what theirs is. Just imagine why so many people come here for the yellow brick road. But think on those that made the world aware of the potential, by the luck of having been born here and needing jobs WHEREVER they could find one. It was luck? It is not Biafra or Africa here, economically speaking. Is this also Rabbit's hell? He depicts the ills of African children that are starving to death in war torn countries world wide as though God has forgotten them. But what about Americans that didn't benefit from the wealth of Silicon Valley and the burgeoning computer industry? Are they left out of God's plan too? for their wealth and ease? It doesn't wash. Let's be realistic, then. Equitable with our judgements and our comparisons. That aside, I would pose this, then. Ask God for his plan and direction, not men. Ask God for attentions to your needs, not man and his opinion of God's will. Seek the Lord for that which is God's will to intervene in, not man for his opinion about God. Pray for anything at all any time in any way that the answer may come and that the answer given is known for it's source, not just conjectured upon. We all ask amiss and in selfish and self centered ways for things. Do't let that stop you from seeking whatever you need or want from God. Do it, at all. the prayers and their answers will alter the course of your life and give the personal insight to how God blesses, more directly. That very blessing and knowledge over time improves the quality of prayers and consistent access to divine will by virtue of the experience itself. Learn and grow and be better for the effort. GOD KNOWS WE DON"T KNOW, SO DON"T SWEAT IT!!! There is no wrong prayer except the one that isn't offered up. The wrong way leads to the right way for those that seek it diligently and are determined to break through the gulf between us and God. Break through....the testimonies are too many to suggest that prayer is a hollow foolishness born out of irresponsible and inept shirking of responsibilities by any person. 2000 years of mankind saying the the Lord does answer and reveals His plan for our lives and does wish to directly intervene and bless our lives is overwhelming. Please remember that the Lord wants us to have thanksgiving in our hearts. He puts it there all by Himself. Those that argue with that comprehension, obviously, have not entered into such a gift as gratitude and thanksgiving. WHY??????? Let us be given the thanksgiving from God and not man, that our thanksgiving be to God and not to man. praying yet? |

I really don't know what to say to you here, that's why I'm here to answer your unanswered question only that I would never judge what is in the heart and mind of another. everyone with reasonable intelligence makes those judgement...it's called self-preservation Nor would I ever call into question the faith or strength of faith in another faith is faith..you either have it or you don't and those that question God's Will lack it . That is not my right, nor within my control. right it's all in God's control and that's why believers that pray also doubt |

that's why I'm here to answer your unanswered question I had no question. I still don't. The fact that you seem to be assuming I did is rather interesting. I see no point in addressing anything else you have written. |

Yellowrose,
I know that. It doesn't matter where it came from. even the doubtsand debate are prayers. all of it is prayer. all of it is answered. by man and by God. Which answer is sought and by and from whom? Let God answer for God. Let man answer God. Let man cry out for answers and from men will man receive only more to cry about. Strife and contention are all misplaced wrestling matches with futile and incessant perpetuity. Letting go and letting God is a saying that speaks to a known truth. That truth is only known to those possessed of that truth. Who gives a flip what ignorance is harbored in the minds of men that don't know all of the truth, or even the better ones? I don't. But I will testify that I do know. peace to all my friends, like and unlike me that are real. |

I say I do not hold in myself the right to judge others, and you call calling into question what is in the hearts and minds of others "self-preservation". Over and over again, you assume what I mean and you judge that assumption. Really, it is cracking me up. |
