I'm reminded of Zombie movies... or that "Red Dawn" with Patrick Swayze....

Am I alone?

That was a great movie, in the end they made it to the free zone

Not only would I be able to survive the end of the world but I'd have an entire army behind me, I've taken survival training since I was 13, I've known hand to hand combat since I was 10, I've known how to shoot a gun since I was 15, I've known how to construct explosives out of simple everyday items (such as chicken bones) and a heat source since I got almost arrested for doing it in Chemistry class in High School when I was 16, and I've charted every subterainian structure in Tucson for easy escape if need be, man not only am I prepared for the Apocalypse I'm counting on it!

would you be able to survive in a post-apocalyptic world? No electricity, no plumbing, no grocery stores, etc. Think of the Gilligan's Island theme song, but you don't get a professor!

I am my own Professor, so yes, I could and would.

laugh
True, but you still need to know which end goes "boom", and how to operate/maintain it.

I'm also just about finished, except for smelting & refining - haven't built my own kiln or furnace and processed raw ore yet, but do have a good handle on the metallurgy.

Horses hate me too. laugh

if that were the case...all main resources would probably be used up within months due to selfish survival tactics. yep, people get that way...think of AKIRA!

Which resources would that be? It doesn't mean to acquire & horde 400 cases of Beanie-Weenies. The goal should be to only stock up on enough supplies to sustain you until you become self-sufficient. Hording non-renewable material makes no sense, and would probably only make you a target for those who have adopted the predator/scavenger lifestyle.
Yes, I agree, some people would turn to that, and that's what all the martial skills are for.
