Topic: When a man hits a woman | |
---|---|
for reasons other than self defense, it's considered abuse. If a woman hits a man for reasons other than self defense is it the same thing?
I don't think it is. I was raised to never hit a woman and if she hits you, just walk away. Maybe that's wrong but it's what I was always taught. |

As far as I'm concerned there is NO reason to HIT either a man or a woman. It's just NOT ever justified. To me....it's domestic violence.

Yep that sounds about right. I just remember.. Men can break a jaw but woman will claw your eyes out. I avoid both.

If she hits you other than in self defense, it is abuse. But, the best thing to do is to get away, not strike back.

I've done my fair share of beatdowns in my day.
Just kidding. |

A woman should not put herself in the place of a man and hit a man, regardless to this teaching that stands.
Men who hit women have utilized all other methods of control and have to resort to abuse for control. Men who feel they have to control those in their lives or in the world are the problem. Until the man realizes that the only control he has is over himself then the problem will continue. |

So ONE doesn't even HAVE TO HIT, just to WANT_TO is grounds for the ONE THINKING to break-up...and move on. YOUR DONE ........end of story! |

Although hitting one another is wrong on both accounts, a man is physically stronger and can, therefore, seriously injure a woman. It is equally wrong for the woman to have a propensity to lash out physically, but I agree...EITHER way...walk away. Engaging in return behavior only escalates the situation. Now, if we're talking self defense....that's another matter.. |

My mom was a victim of domestic violence and I do not feel that anyone should place their hands on anyone to hurt them..I was 7 yrs old when she was murdered and I still have a hard time dealing with her death.

Physical violence is assault,no matter you starts the aggression. That is why so many states now take both to jail.
ASSAULT is wrong & against the law. |

Neither has the right to strike back in my book it is just sooooo wrong both under the law should be treated the same. I agree, this should be gender-neutral. Wrong is wrong, regardless of who's doing it. I was stabbed once by a drunken ex-gf, it's not a whole hell of a lot of fun. |

Wrong is wrong, regardless of whos doing it... I couldnt agree more.. I was in an abusive relationship for over 8 years. I struck back once....I was 8 months pregnant with my now 9 year old daughter...he tried kicking my stomach,, in my eyes he was tryig to kill my unborn baby.. Period..I beat his a** with a baseball bat and he went to prison for 4 years...It was self defense..Ionly hit him that one time.. divorced his sorry a** and never looked back My motto like I tell my kids.. keep your hands to yourself.. period.. anger is never a reason to hit someone!!! |
