Some men get weird about accidently being called by the wife's name though. I get called by my girl friends last name all the time like when I take her to her medical apointments and it doesnt bother me at all it just makes me smile. I dont try to correct them whats the point if they think we are a happy married couple who cares. Maybe were are happy looking couple becasue we arent married. |

How do you feel about a woman keeping her maiden name after marriage? Why? ![]() But he would MAKE-SURE he told EVERYONE he was married.. ![]() To be real here, If she wanted to keep it as a middle or before mine, cool, but to NOT want mine SHE would have to really EXPLAIN her reason for THAT? But it might be ok..? And to change after divorce to her maiden,,,no problem,,but to change MY CHILDS,,,I would have a big BIG issue with that one.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Does lilith know of your plans?? ![]() ![]() ![]() She doesn't even know of my transformation to a 74 year old woman, looking for an intimate encounter with a man, yet. I did leave a message on her cell though. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Think of it as a good test of your relationship. If she really loves you it won't matter. Good Luck! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

yes I own my name....
French Canadian(US born)...I like the way Canada has chosen to have woman keeep their last name.. I believe it keeps things real simple... I have changed my name..then divoreced back to my maiden... My last name works best for me..... If I ever married again....I would hope that my husband would have no problem with me choosing what I want... It doesn't have anything really to do with him.. But for me...I have had my maiden name longer than any other ones name..... I love my last name..and what it represents.. I am also PROUD of my last name.... maybe men should change theirs to ours....and see how they feel about that... that would be intereresting..... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I've changed my name three times.my last ex adopted my daughter so i kept his last name as it was my kids last name.My daughter has since married but my son will always have the same name as me.
With me i don't see why taking someones last name should be such a big deal. After all you took your fathers name at birth.. Seems to me to be a trivial issue at best. |

Seems to me to be a trivial issue at best. when you take your fathers - or mothers- last name at birth, you haven't already been living with a name for 20, 30, 40 , 50 years. That might make a difference. A name is part of your identity. Some people don't want to change their identity for someone else. And surely , if that someone else loved you, they would not expect you to. |

The woman retains her maiden name after marriage in Canada?
|

OK, those of you arguing for NOT changing names after marriage...
What if it was important to your partner? A symbolic gesture of "Two shall become one"? The "if you love me you would..." argument cuts both ways. |

The "if you love me you would..." argument cuts both ways. it would cut both ways if I were asking him to change his name. I wouldn't do that, and neither should he. |
