Just wanted to start a simple line, so that those of us that know each other, and those that don't, can get to pop in and say Hi.
Now-a-days, (and I've only really been here a short time) there are so many posts in poetry, that it's hard just to say... I appreciate you... So, to all the poets, that have the heart, want, or need to bravely share their poetry, and souls... This is FroznChild, saying... You're appreciated. With Equescent thoughts....

Say the nice things
while I am near Say the nice things while I can hear Don't wait til I'm gone and then say to my friends I liked him/her a lot I liked him/her to no ends I may not be smart and I may not be pretty I don't want your gold not even your pity But I do want to know as we travel along That I'm sometimes right and not always wrong I'll make a resolution if you do the same Then we can play it just like a game If there is something nice about someone you know Come right out and say it Just tell them so Just wanted to start a simple line, so that those of us that know each other, and those that don't, can get to pop in and say Hi. Did you ever stop and wonder

Once upon a time
after I was born my father had not a dime and so we had no corn We walked to the mine it was the only way from the depths of pit number nine we got our coal for that day Poor as church mice we raised our only food it wasn't always nice but it tasted very good I made my own toys from a discarded spool and showed them to the boys when i went to school A coal miner's son twas how i was born yes, I'm the one the child of the corn the beginning of every day Just wanted to start a simple line, so that those of us that know each other, and those that don't, can get to pop in and say Hi. I keep my words tucked away safe and sound , in their own place. I prefer to keep it that way... a dance, a personal dance, all there, pages and pages of the rhythms, moods, shades and textures of me... Read at one's own peril.

Do song lyrics count? Here a song I wrote a long time ago called "Crossing My Fingers"; the punctuation is inaccurate, I use it to help me remember the flow of the song:
Sitting back, in my chair. Been awake for hours, but I'm still not all there Thinking bout you Stumbling in for another day. Wishing again that you could stay Thinking bout you {Bridge start} So far away, been trying so hard, just to keep it all together Thoughts fade away.
