Poor English is acceptable from people from other countries but, if you were born here, come on. There are people at my school who are LEARNING English and can write better than some of the locals. There’s no excuse for this.

One here and there doesn't bother me much because every once in a while we all slip one by here and there, but if it's constant, it annoys the @$%# out of me.

Some misspelled words can be forgiven. But people that don't know the difference between your & you're and there, their and they're need to be shot, specially if they were born in the US.

I'm a former journalist. It does bother me. I am probably guilty, too, though. Most of these people don't know saint's Strunk and White, though!

What? That's half the fun. It's like it's written in code and you feel extra smart after deciphering it. (Or your iq drops about 100 points, I forget which.)

It doesn't bother me much when other people do it. But when I make a mistake I generally go back and edit it.

Doesn't bother me. The only thing that bothers me is when it's in a magazine, I mean, c'mon, editors get paid good to catch that, which means, they are getting paid for nothing. Besides, check this out:

i cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdanieg. The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid, aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it dseno't mtaetr in waht oerdr the ltteres in a wrod are, the olny iproamtnt tihng is taht the frsit and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it whotuit a pboerlm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Azanmig huh? yaeh and I awlyas tghuhot slpeling was ipmorantt! if you can raed tihs forwrad it.

Honestly, that's pretty cool.glasses
Don't mind the grammer and puncuation thing so much, unless it turns into a three paragraph rant of run-on sentences, that get's old, quick!

to see typos, misspelled words, and grammatical errors when people post on here? I am a former editor, so guess my opinion...lol

My attitude is if you're going to write something for the purpose of communicating, to be understood, you might as well do it right or not waste your (and my) time.

Nothing rankles like a pseudo-intellectual trying to say something "profound," and every other word is misspelled. How am I supposed to take someone seriously, when what they write looks like it was cobbled together by a dyslexic second grader?
