It's almost always a commute
 My job's only 7 miles away and it still takes 30 minutes or more in the morning.

It wouldn't be so bad for me, but I'm moving to Gresham here in a few weeks, so that will add some time. If this job is a go I'll be working in Hillsboro and people drive crazy in the tunnel on the way to Beaverton. |

I'm hoping. Actually I did take a test for a place out in Gresham too. The HR person is coming off of vacation tomorrow. Hopefully they'll call back for an interview.

A little of this and a little of that. I've done a little of everything mostly. Lately warehouse and manufacturing. That's what I'm looking for right now. Something in the $12/hr or higher range specifically.

I tell ya, the job market sucks just about everywhere. I'm pretty secure at the moment but I work for a construction law firm and if the industry keeps sliding, I don't know for how long. We've lost quite a few people in the past few months and they're not replacing them. And we haven't had any new cases in months.

Yeah it's getting harder. You can thank the various lopsided foreign trade acts passed by Congress for that.

My sister works for Chrysler and they just outsourced her whole department overseas. She has a job for at least the next little while but who knows for how long. |
