(((Cyn))) A void only One can fill When things were high in my life, I never felt a need To come to you and tell you thanks, or even ask you please Then times got bad and finally I bowed down before you and asked you to forgive You lightened my heart in the blink of an eye, you forgave all my sins You were the void that I could not fill with drugs, sex, booze or pills But when You forgave me, I felt the void disappear, my life was now fulfilled © Copyright 2008 Den Wedding. As the Eagle Soars As the Eagle soars so high above, floating on the sky He looks down, eyes concentrated, and then begins to dive The tiny figures he sees below soon begin to grow Gracefully he glides just a top the water, headed for his prey In one fell swoop he grabs a fish, and then he’ll fly away Enjoying his meal, he decides on seconds and back aloft he goes He’ll yank another fish out with those claws he has for toes The fish is just swimming along, minding his own business, but so the circle goes © Copyright 2008 Den Wedding. Take me to higher places Armageddon had begun, due to their strength, some were chosen to fight Others, due to their speed, were chosen to carry souls to heaven by flight Massive explosions abound as Angels and Demons fought for the souls I had flown down quicker and quicker and had thus far retrieved the most Let it not be misunderstood that I had done this alone, and I had no time to boast Though immortal, we still could lose our existence and He had to orchestrate It would be thousands of years before his fallen Angels he could recreate The risks were high, but bound by an Oath, we went on and did our job I was sent to retrieve the soul of a mother and her child amongst a mob Carrying one soul could be taxing enough, but I could not let that child be destroyed I swept in with all my speed, grabbed them both in my arms and started to retreat I felt the pain of heat on my back, but I had to get them to heaven, my task I had to complete I took her higher and higher, her blue eyes starring into mine as my vision blurred I set her and her two year old down by the pearly gates, then suddenly it occurred I looked behind me and saw my wings were destroyed and I would soon lie dead She looked deep into my eyes, and my last image before I went was her kissing my forehead © Copyright 2008 Den Wedding. All Rights Reserved by Author. Poet not a story teller huh? I do so beg to differ, this was very uplifting..........Yes, the play on words was most definitely intended.

Why does it hurt, when I feel no pain? I stand here in the cold rain, tears streaming down my face Never thought I’d find myself, standing here in this place I look up at your bedroom as the rain begins to pound Rain has me covered from head to toe, I cannot hear a sound I took my own life, to escape the hell of losing my sweet Elaine I shouldn’t be able to feel, so why does it hurt when I can feel no pain? © Copyright 2008 Den Wedding. Excellent write. I was enthralled with the way you chose to approach it! Way beyond my expectations! (although I knew it would be good) The last line keeps sticking in my mind, for flow... This was kick, can't wait to read twice baked virgins... Lol.
