I went on a date a few nights ago and naturaly wanted to pay for dinner and the movie we saw. Thats just how I was brought up. The man pays, at least on the first few dates. Is that wrong? I mean, we are going out on a second date on thursday but she told me that she would like to pay for part if not all of the date.

Some women like to pay, let her pay her half if she wants, but still pay for your half. Always assume you are to pay for everythting unless she tells you otherwise, but I would never let her pay for you. JMO |

Enjoy a woman paying while you can. If you can get a marriage partner to do the same, then you'll really have it made!

If she pays, you might have to put out there is no doubt about it....bring a condom or at least some "go to hell" money.. |

Wow, consider yourself lucky. You have a mature woman that wants to date you. There is nothing wrong with letting her pay if she wants to.

You should insist on paying. Or at least get her some kind of gift or surprise if she insists on paying.

I planned on letting her pay her half, I just wanted to see what people thought about it. I definitely wouldn't let anyone pay my way. I'd feel like i was taking advantage. Thanks everyone for your advice, I'm glad to see we're all on the same page here.

After all, you were brought up that way (as you said). Unfortunately, everything's dun' gone topsy-turvy over the years, and they're gonna wanna prove their "independence of men" by wanting to pay for dinner, etc. If you find yourself in such a predicament, simply put your wallet back in your pocket and let her pay or go "dutch" as would be the case. Just don't let her do it too many times, though- she's liable to think you don't have a job or something. |

I agree with mirror. Even if she feels like she should pay, ever girl likes to be treated. Also she may just not be use to having anyone pay for her.
