Dragoness......
First, these three words have not, as you put it, undermined America. It is the terrorists who have done that since the War on Terror is real. Furthermore, the Global War on Terror was engineered to make our country and other nations secure. I know there is inconvenience in travel and many other areas, because of the heightened security the War on Terror has inflicted on us. Additionally, yes, certain peoples are being singled out for profiling, because of their ancestory/physical appearance. As far as there being no geographic area of concern, you are mistaken in that belief. The War on Terror has also been defined as the Global War on Terror since it is not confined to one specific country since terrorists encompass many countries. The War on Terror/Global War on Terror was not engineered by our government to develop fear monogoring. It is as real as the murders of Americans in the 9/11 terrorist attack. Dragoness. Terror is not a government, an ideology, or a political movement. It is a tactic used in a wide range of specific situations, which you understand since you stated that in your essay. Howewver, you need to remember that there is no market measure of what value society places on security. Acts of terrorism impose social and economic costs, which cannot be calculated. One broad measure of success is that the US has not been attacked since 9/11, in part because of the effectiveness of elements in the War On Terror in disrupting some terrorist activities. However, since the above referenced war has been defined as a Global War on Terror, there is no way to measure what the ultimate costs socially and economically will be or when it will end. The point is not to debate the inconveniences but the successes of America's Global War on Terror. |

fearmongering is saying that we are now hated throughout the entire world and that the only way to turn that tide is to elect a democrat who will not even committ to any of the troop withdrawls that you say is required by the world, or that we have been shamed and some day we will wake up and realize that.
thats fearmongering too, dont be a hypocrit. I never really understood violent "peace protestors" oxymoronical. |

another bleeding heart post... do you mean as opposed to another war mongering, demonizing, corporate supporting, post ? It's astounding to me that they want me to believe that it's in my best interest to go along with their fascist motives... when the fact is that they get a thrill at the prospect of instilling fear and hate so they can be justified in making their war games into actual death and destruction... |

I beg to differ on this point..by what yardstick are you using to measure the "successes of America's Global War on Terror"? there have been no measurable decreases in terrorist activities worldwide, the number of terrorists cells have increased, especially in Iraq, where the only person who was able to curtail such activities in his country was hung by the neck till dead, oh... and dont forget that Osama bin Ladden was never captured,...you remember him, right? he's was the one who master mined the September 11th attack against the US... |

Babyshrub targeted Saddam and Iraq and that is the extent of his psuedo "war on terror". He did not utilize the avenues he had available to him, he shirked them as irrelavant and made us war criminals in the process. I am all for making the perpetrator of 9/11 pay for his crimes against us, but alas, bin laden is not in Iraq, never has been in Iraq, IRAQ HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11, SADDAM HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11. Iraq is not the homeland of terrorism, etc.......... Wake up people, you have been fooled. |

I too live this way But many do not and they are being lead down the yellow brick road of fearmongering and warmongering. We are not making a dent in terrorism in Iraq and the reason we have not had any new attacks has absolutely nothing to do with our military being in Iraq. It is illogical to even think along those lines.
Terrorists are worldwide. Iraq is not the homeland of terrorism. Iraq has not perpetrated a terror attack in our soil to this day. 9/11 was perpetrated out of Afghanistan WHILE OUR MILITARY WAS THERE!!!!!! Come on people. It is not as plain as day. It's astounding to me that they want me to believe that it's in my best interest to go along with their fascist motives... when the fact is that they get a thrill at the prospect of instilling fear and hate so they can be justified in making their war games into actual death and destruction
And the weather doesn't change much either while wearing rose colored glasses. Don't put away that umbrella just yet. |

Not fear, shame maybe but not fear at any level. |

The sad thing about terrorists is that if you take out one, another is ready to take his/her place. The war will never end, 9/11 was not the first time nor will it be the last time we are attacked by terrorists. Just like the "war on drugs", the war on terrorism will never end.

It is not as plain as day. first and foremost i would like to commend you for admitting that there are indeed terrorist in the world. there might be hope for you(doubtful as it is) you say that no terror attacks have happened again and it is illogical to say it is because we are in iraq? it is illogical to think it is otherwise. they can not afford the time man power or resources to launch yet another attack on the US while we are depleting their numbers on the battlefields that are iraq and afghanistan. which is to say we are more than making a dent, but you wouldnt know that without having actually seen it with your own eyes. you have however seen that there hasnt been another attack here, so i guess the government wit its resources is doing an at least somewhat fair job on keeping the blood in your body. we are no longer at war with iraq. wtf did he just say? you read it. right now iraq is merely a place where we are fighting terrorist of any nation that sends them there. of course maybe you would rather we let the fight(which is happening one way or another-cause hugs just dont work anymre)come to your neighborhood. we had a large number of forces in afghanistan on 9 11? thats interesting, i mean im in the service and I didnt know about that. |

The war will never end, 9/11 was not the first time nor will it be the last time we are attacked by terrorists. Just like the "war on drugs", the war on terrorism will never end. Utilizing all avenues available to a government would have made both "wars" more likely to succeed. These are both global issues, not Iraqi issues. |

Very true, but if we listen to all the bleeding hearts and let our guard down, then the consequences are ten fold. So we continue fighting to keep our heads afloat. Stop fighting and the terrorists win, absolutely. |

I agree with you totally especially because this "war", is about ideologies...you cant settle that with bombs..religious zealots have no fear of death, they welcome it. |
