Why should we abandon our friend? We have been through all this before, Israel has as much claim to the land as the arabs do. The dome of the rock is built on the old Jewish Temple. Using that logic we should give America back to the Indians. Everyone else can just crowd into Rhode Island. |

Oh - wait a minute...We DID that! |

Abandon our friend?
Well, of course we are theirs, we have given them everything. But what exactly have they done for us? Give us enemies that use terrorism to attack us? |

Israel is one of the few middle-eastern countries which tries to operate like a western power, this makes makes them sort of an ambassador to the middleast for the way western powers operate, for better or worse, if they were to be taken over by lebanon/egypt/any of those islamic police states which have attempted to destroy it in the past, that is a victory not only over israel (a place considered sacred by all 3 abrahemian religions) but over the western world as a whole, this is why the united states protects israel so vehemontly

The only claim towards friendship I see there is one of spirituality.
That just reinforces the claim of the Christian influence in pushing the Zionist movement!! |

Jewish Virtual Library A division of the American-Israeli cooperative Enterprise! Come on slow, this is an obvious unbiased source of facts? OK - Here is a quote from the "biased" article... "The recognition of shared values has been a consistent theme in statements by American Presidents ever since Truman. John Kennedy, for example, declared: "This nation, from the time of President Woodrow Wilson, has established and continued a tradition of friendship with Israel because we are committed to all free societies that seek a path to peace and honor individual right. In the prophetic spirit of Zionism all free men today look to a better world and in the experience of Zionism we know that it takes courage and perseverance and dedication to achieve it." "The United States and Israel share many common objectives...chief of which is the building of a better world in which every nation can develop its resources and develop them in freedom and peace," said Lyndon Johnson. The roots of Johnson's feelings, like those of many other Americans came from the Bible. As he explained in a speech before B'nai B'rith: "Most if not all of you have very deep ties with the land and with the people of Israel, as I do, for my Christian faith sprang from yours." The President explained that "the Bible stories are woven into my childhood memories as the gallant struggle of modern Jews to be free of persecution is also woven into our souls." Richard Nixon asserted that the United States stands by its friends and that "Israel is one of its friends." His successor, Gerald Ford, reaffirmed his "commitment to the security and future of Israel is based upon basic morality as well as enlightened self-interest. Our role in supporting Israel honors our own heritage." "The United States," Jimmy Carter said, "has a warm and a unique relationship of friendship with Israel that is morally right. It is compatible with our deepest religious convictions, and it is right in terms of America's own strategic interests. We are committed to Israel's security, prosperity, and future as a land that has so much to offer the world." Ronald Reagan was the first President to state explicitly that Israel was a strategic asset to the United States, a belief he expressed even before he was elected: "Only by full appreciation of the critical role the State of Israel plays in our strategic calculus can we build the foundation for thwarting Moscow's designs on territories and resources vital to our security and our national well-being." But Reagan also understood this alliance sprang from shared values: "Since the rebirth of the State of Israel, there has been an ironclad bond between that democracy and this one." Shortly after taking office, George Bush said: "The friendship, the alliance between the United States and Israel is strong and solid, built upon a foundation of shared democratic values, of shared history and heritage, that sustains the life of our two countries. The emotional bond of our people transcends politics. Our strategic cooperation—and I renew today our determination that that go forward—is a source of mutual security. And the United States’ commitment to the security of Israel remains unshakeable. We may differ over some policies from time to time, individual policies, but never over the principle." President Bill Clinton has taken the relationship to another level during his administration. "Our relationship would never vary from its allegiance to the shared values, the shared religious heritage, the shared democratic politics which have made the relationship between the United States and Israel a special—even on occasion a wonderful—relationship." |

I read that and it just proves what I have said for ages. The prophecies of the bible supposedly give us a legitimate right to help the Zionist steal another's land?
The Arabs did not throw the Jews from the ME. The Romans did! You could also make a legitimate arguement that the land belongs to Iran (Persia). Where does it stop. Simply because we are so powerful what we preach does not stick to us. If the American Indian had Christian roots would you crowd to Rhode Island then? |

Twenty-six years have passed since that clear day on June 8, 1967 when Israel attacked the USS Liberty with aircraft and torpedo boats, killing 34 young men and wounding 171. The attack in international waters followed over nine hours of close surveillance. Israeli pilots circled the ship at low level 13 times on eight different occasions before attacking. Radio operators in Spain, Lebanon, Germany and aboard the ship itself all heard the pilots reporting to their headquarters that this was an American ship. They attacked anyway. And when the ship failed to sink, the Israeli government concocted an elaborate story to cover the crime.
There is no question that this attack on a U.S. Navy ship was deliberate. This was a coordinated effort involving air, sea, headquarters and commando forces attacking over a long period. It was not the "few rounds of misdirected fire" that Israel would have the world believe. Worse, the Israeli excuse is a gross and detailed fabrication that disagrees entirely with the eyewitness recollections of survivors. Key American leaders call the attack deliberate. More important, eyewitness participants from the Israeli side have told survivors that they knew they were attacking an American ship. Friends??? Unit 101 which Sharon led, do you know who they are and when they were created, and by whom? |

The jews, as the British weakened by their effort in WWII, were withdrawing from most of their Empire, and not satisfied with a UN mandate giving them 70% of Palestine. (70% land for 30% of the inhabitants)
Attacked British weapons depots, killing British Soldiers and stealing the weapons and ammo they would later use for the atrocities against the Palestinian people. Try to get the Jews to back up to this 70%, UN mandated border. And once again, if they left Europe to flea persecution, why go to the ME where everyone wants them dead? In Israel, it is a very small percentage of Jews that even actively worship Judaism. Less than 50%. Look it up! |

We know the US wont do anything!!
Fifteen years after the attack, an Israeli pilot approached Liberty survivors and then held extensive interviews with former Congressman Paul N. (Pete) McCloskey about his role. According to this senior Israeli lead pilot, he recognized the Liberty as American immediately, so informed his headquarters, and was told to ignore the American flag and continue his attack. He refused to do so and returned to base, where he was arrested. Later, a dual-citizen Israeli major told survivors that he was in an Israeli war room where he heard that pilot's radio report. The attacking pilots and everyone in the Israeli war room knew that they were attacking an American ship, the major said. He recanted the statement only after he received threatening phone calls from Israel. The pilot's protests also were heard by radio monitors in the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon. Then-U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Dwight Porter has confirmed this. Porter told his story to syndicated columnists Rowland Evans and Robert Novak and offered to submit to further questioning by authorities. Unfortunately, no one in the U.S. government has any interest in hearing these first-person accounts of Israeli treachery. If Iran did this we would give them hell! Rightfully so... |

If the American Indian had Christian roots would you crowd to Rhode Island then? whew - where to BEGIN...rolling up sleeves 1. Shared democratic values not necessarily religion. 2. You imply that the Persians and Romans (and anyone else who occupied the land) could equally well lay claim to it - so, how could the Zionist who have arguably the longest standing claim to administering this land as a political entity somehow be stealing it!? 3. You argue that the Romans threw out the Jews but this is not entirely accurate. The Romans occupied Israel, persecuted the Jews, but I believe there always was a Jewish presence there. 4. Even more silly is the assertion that the Arabs did NOT throw the Jews out of the Middle East! This one is a howler. Do you have any idea how many Jews used to reside in the (at the time friendly) Muslim countries surrounding modern Israel? from the Wiki for example... "According to official Arab statistics, 856,000 Jews left their homes in Arab countries from 1948 until the early 1970s. Some 600,000 resettled in Israel, [1] leaving behind property valued today at more than $300 billion.[2][3] Jewish-owned real-estate left behind in Arab lands has been estimated at 100,000 square kilometers (four times the size of the State of Israel). [4]" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_exodus_from_Arab_lands hard to believe but true I will not re-address the Rhode Island issue. I love to take up the defense of the Jews and the Zionists! It is so politically incorrect - and so well documented! |
