is stuck in my throat... ugh it tastes so chalky. But the good news is my hand is starting to heal nicely after spilling a cup of 200 degree water on it at work on monday yay for 2nd degree burns! be careful they are very addictive. I work at a drug/alcohol treatment center. We will not give it to clients no matter how much pain they may be in. |

Sounds more like an attention ploy to me... if they were prescribed for burns on Monday then you have been taking them since monday... but we get the blow by blow account of what's happening now, Thursday morning? Hmmmm...yep.

Hmmmm...yep. Yeah, exactly. I mean if they were really going to prescribe her anything for pain, it probably would have been lortabs. I mean, give me a break. And even if, the doctor wouldn't have given her a weeks supply. She might be taking this drug, but I don't think the doctor gave it to her. |

I'm not dissin' on the person that posted this thread , but I DO KNOW that they usually save those "OXYs" for cancer patients and those who REALLY need them. |

Here in Australia, Morphine based pain medication IS given for burns victims... Oxycontin, in 2 and 5 mg doses, and usually a five day course, then onto a codeine based pain relief for the next week....etc, etc... it is standard practise here..

she said oxycodone not oxycontin, there is a massive diffrence oxycodone is percocets, not the high powered ocycontin

If you have been and are in pain, hydro codone and oxycodone are not that strong.
Only prob i've found is that the people that dont really need them seem to have them and the ones that really need them cant seem to get them. You would have to take them everyday in large doses for a long period of time to get addicted, although everyone is different, it still takes time. Properly prescribed, there is no worry, abused, it will be like any other drug and control and ruin your life. They are also much safer with fewer side effects in the control and treatment of Arthritis and migraine etc. and take it with some coffee or tea, dissolve and go right down |

Fell better!
But don't get hooked on the Oxycodone. Too easy to do and BAD for you. Very BAD. |
