you can buy reconditioned used dual core laptops fairly cheap. They only offer like 90days of guarantee but you can buy a 2 or 3 year full guarantee for around 100 that even gives you a lemon clause if it has to be repaired more than 3 times usually and they come to your home if it breaks. You can save a lot and have a better guarantee than a new one..Miles

From what I've heard, Fujitsu makes the best laptops. Of course, this is offset by the fact that they're probably some of the more pricey laptops out there too.
Toshibas are okay as well, but they tend to run a bit on the hot side. Panasonic also makes some decent lappies, especially the "Toughbook" which has got to be the Hummer of laptops. You could shoot it with a 12-gauge shotgun and it'll probably still work. |

I have a toughbook and love it, mine has been doberman chewed, slobered on, dropped, and dropped some more and I can't kill it! This is the one I own, 19 Touchscreen PC version…Toughbook 19 Tablet $3386 |

Yeah. If you can stomach the price, a Toughbook would one to get.
Not only would it be a decent computing device, but it'd also be a pretty good self-defense weapon too- if a crook tries to mug you, just kong the thing against his skull. It should flatten the bastard in no time. |
