I am watching a special on TV about little girls in pageants...what's your opinion? as a former dance teacher...i've had my fill of the stage parents that think their 3 yr old is a prima ballerina and should be front and center

omg...they spray tan little girls and get them bridges to hide the lost baby teeth

I did pagents -- lots of them .. at one time i wanted to be Miss America - go ahead and make fun of me - but seriously they can be both a blessing and a curse .. making up children to be sexualized in anyway is explotation - the make up the style of dress is disgusting .. it was not that bad when I was doing them .. the goal was the all american girl look ..which at the time was Barbie .. I think that it sends bad signals to women .. that the outside is more important than the inside .. jmho

my niece does pageants because her mom did them but her mom doesn't push her and if she doesn't want to do them....she can stop. same goes for dance. kids need to be kids

I think pageants are okay if the moms aren't insane. When the moms go crazy telling their little girls all they have is their looks, there's something wrong with that. As long as you're not hardcore and it's all in fun, I think it's okay.

I think pageants are okay if the moms aren't insane. When the moms go crazy telling their little girls all they have is their looks, there's something wrong with that. As long as you're not hardcore and it's all in fun, I think it's okay. for fun and in perspective is great...just like sports or dance..or anything for that matter. I'm just shocked at what parents do.

Hmmmmmmmm I dont believe its cool for mothers to put their children in such things........... When they are older and want to then fine......but it is exploitation and disgusting!

i think its digusting sorry but its a sore point with me, dressing these little girls up in such a way, making them look older for a competition..the world gone mad and the mothers want shooting enough said

What pagents did do for me though is taught me to take care of my appearance .. To lose graciously ,, to speak in public.. to walk in high heels .. to belt out songs .. and to never underestimate the power of baton twirling ..

I agree with how far it's been taken. It would be fine if they can be their own age. I've seen too many dancers that are 5 or so....dancing like table dancers
