How come it seems that with some guys, 'just friends' doesn't seem to work with them.. It's like, all or nothing.
Theres this one guy that is really sweet, and we've hungout a few times and such.. but then he's like, well, do you think we could try a relationship.. and I told him it'd be easier to just remain as friends and such, because of what I'm going through, and because I am a bit too busy to dedicate myself to someone that is a 40 minute drive away. I know 40 minutes isn't too bad, like.. the drive doesn't bother me.. but I am the only one of the two of us that does drive, so I'll always being the one making that drive and like.. between work, school and volunteering .. I just can't find the time. but he said to me. "I really like being around you.. You're so much fun and just a beautiful girl. Do you think we could work things out between us so that we could try a relationship, because I really like you." and I told him no, and explained why.. and he said. "Well, I want more than just friends.. I can't deal with being just friends with you." |

I personally would think the guy is an asshole so if he can't handle staying friends for the time being then think about how he would act with other situations! I personally think that you should not associate yourself with him if he is going to act that way! A true man would understand what your going through and respect that! But hey not all men are that way so you might just want to do something you don't want to do! Either way you go I wish you the best of luck!

"Well, I want more than just friends.. I can't deal with being just friends with you." feelings get intense. when they are then he is merely making a statement of fact - his reality. he is too attracted to you physically to see you on a friends only basis. that is too bad but extremely common for both men and women. move on and stop seeing him - or it will just be painful to both. try to imagine the shoe being on the other foot - and you being attracted irresistibly to a guy but he can only accept a friend relationship with you. sorry to hear about that but best of luck to both of you... |

why would you want to date someone who doesn't drive anyway. Tell him to get a car and act like a grown up

why would you want to date someone who doesn't drive anyway. Tell him to get a car and act like a grown up and it never will be as long as people are willing to drive him around, go see him, etc. He needs to take responsibility for himself. My daughter got a car at 16. I am not going to drive someone around when they are old enough to do it themselves. I guess I don't understand why a person that age would want to be dependent on other people for transportation. To me it seems weak. |

I understand where you're coming from.. but financially, a car just doesn't fit the picture right now. Once school is paid off, and his house.. then a car will be in his budget. Not everyone is blessed to have a parent will buy the car for them.. He's been on his own since he was 14.. so I can see why he doesn't have a car.. but again, that's just my opinion on things.

Oh I see. It's a financial thing. Just for the record, though, I didn't buy my daughter a car. She is in high school and works two jobs. |
