Keep in mind that they would separate you from your kids. If you didn't join your significant other would be forced to write you a letter saying they were breaking off all contact with you. If you had kids that would include them too. That if you joined they could station you anywhere and make you do basic slave labor and of you didn't like it and tried to run they would bring you back and punish you by making you work a more menial job locked away somewhere with no contact to the outside world.

I understand what your saying rabbit, but that sounds like a lot of religions. Ive known "christian" churches in my local community that engage in similiar practices.
