Let me give you an example as I tend to use ish a lot. "I might get out there next weekish" as in any day, or possibly. It's a easy way of saying "I'm not sure".

gggrrr ... okay so here's the situation ...
Q: Do you like someone right now? Girl: -ish. ..... |
Maybe.
Or even possibly, or mildly like someone. Depends was it in a verb sense or noun? Just kidding doesn't matter, it means "somewhat and/or possibly" in that form. |

You'll have to ask HER what she means by that in that particular situation.
She might be saying it as a slang meaning "Good grief what a mess" or "I'm disgusted with the concept right now" or perhaps even "No way and what the heck are you even asking for?!" Try to imagine her making that sound - "Ish!" when you asked her that question and you'll get the idea. -ish is usually added to the end of a word meaning "somewhere close to that" "I'll be home around three o'clock-ish" "My son is looking pale and kind of sick-ish" So she MIGHT be saying "Yes, I kind of sort of maybe like someone." You might consider looking for someone with better communication skills... |
