Oh!! Texas has the Community Resource Directory like Oklahoma does. Call 2-1-1 (just like 9-1-1 on your phone) and tell them what you need, and they can give you all kinds of contacts. They can probably also give you a phone number for the DHS office (I don't know what they call it in TX) where you can get hooked up with food stamps (if that's something you think you might need... you wouldn't be eligible for cash assistance or medical without having kids).

Sounds like you knew what you were getting into before you said "I do". I haven't seen a relationship work yet where the man married the woman just so he could get a green card. He stiffed you for the rent but he'll be living off of the rest of us for years to come. No sympothy here.

talk to your landlord, let him/her know the situation, he/she might give you a few more days or even weeks to come up with the money, let all your bill collectors know the situation, give them the oportunity to give you breathing/breakdown time...then you can get your bills paid

your bill collectors are people too, they are understanding in situations like these..

Sweetie, if you've been abused there are agencies to help you out as well. Domestic violence related.

Get help. There are tons of agencies out there that work with situations like yours.

Get State and Government Aid NOW! Look on line, I bet you qualify for tons. If you have children you will qualify for even more. Don't wait till the first, do it now. In the mean time talk to your landlord and see if they are willing to make some kind of arrangements. You would be surprised many people are willing to help. Good Luck Sweetie!
