My plan as of now- may change- is to start with the lighter belgians. Most of my reason for doing this is that several of my female friends have expressed an interest in something like this. They always tell me they want to try some of the cool beers we have (over 80 in bottles) but they are afraid because they don't know what to order.
I always recommend the belgian styles because they have great flavor without one overpowering taste. My plan is to continue this and make it a monthly occurance and to move on to the IPA's porters stouts etc. These classes are going to be a fun way to find out what you like without having to just randomly order beers off a menu without having an idea what you like. Sure. Everybody is welcome. My coworker and I will be kind of switching off between teaching and bartending. The whole point is to meet people and try something different.
