Let's walk barefoot up to pebble creek
Where we'll spend all day, what a sweet retreat Fishing poles holding one hand Sweet smell of honeysuckle in the air Us by the shore, awaiting the first bite While running around in the early morn light We've grown together like wild flowers Best friends forever in all our endeavours I never ever want to be apart From you, my sweet ten year old counterpart I've made you a crown of flowers Made with different types and many colors Your blue eyes twinkle laughing all the while As you push me backwards, playful sweet child Laid on the grass staring up at clouds Wondering if they look back at us Times are-a-changing the grown ups say The day is coming where you and I will no longer play Far from here they'll take you from me Your daddy's new job inside a new big city No longer will I have you as a partner To cry, laugh, and play as growing up gets harder The freckles on your nose, make you look funny You tell me I'm too thin, and kinda scrawny We stare into each other, strange feelings known by no other First sweet kiss of innocence that will never be forgotten Blushing and smiling we pull back together This will be our secret from now 'til forever Standing, that boyish look on your face Run up to the water, dive in with no shame I will stay here, Will you wait for me? The day will come when I'll be older Taller and maybe much, much stronger Until I can find you again I will come back to this, our secret place Hoping to see you waiting for me To have us a simpler life, sweet as can be |

Those days can never be recaptured no matter how hard you try, but you know what? The memories, oh, those bitter sweet memories filed away in the deepest part of you are priceless. Beautiful serenity my friend. Nice write

Hi,
what I notice about this poem is that it is totally original, but that it has the Essence of the other one. My conclusion is that when you write, you are truly writing from your Soul. GOD bless jimmy |
