Vanessa I read this & thought I'd share:
WASHINGTON (April 8) - Navy SEAL Michael A. Monsoor had fast thinking to do when a live grenade came out of nowhere to bounce off his chest: Take the clear path to safety that he had but his comrades didn't, try to toss it safely away, or throw himself on top of it.
Navy SEAL Michael Monsoor threw himself on a live grenade to save his comrades. Monsoor, 25, died about 30 minutes later. Thanks to his quick action, his fellow SEALS all survived the incident on Sept. 29, 2006, in Ramadi, Iraq. Monsoor was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor on Tuesday. With barely an instant's hesitation on that Iraqi rooftop, Monsoor took the last course, sacrificing his life to save the men around him. For that, President Bush on Tuesday awarded him the Medal of Honor. From what I understand when the funeral was held in California almost every single Navy Seal attended and covered his casket with some kind of gold pin they wear ... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Story and video here: javascript:function returnURLplayer592(){var k=document.location.toString();return(k);} Not sure if that link works but it's on AOL top stories this morning ![]() |

World Champion Bull Rider Event June 28th MWSF has partnered with world famous Cowboys Dancehall in San Antonio to conduct a world class Bull Ride and Bull Fight event the evening on June 28th in SA Texas. The Bull riding will also feature a concert on this special night which expects to draw the capacity of 5,000 which the venue will hold. The benefit rodeo will honor the injured warriors and families and support the Foundations continuing programs for injured troops form Afghanistan and Iraq. Over 100 warriors and their families have been assisted through recreational weekends, scholarships and practical assistance. This Rodeo will continue to heighten community awareness to the full family needs and recruit additional companies to partner in hiring and educating our Heroes in further development of life skills. The Foundation plans to announce the providing of another full 4 year scholarship to an injured warrior or spouse at the event. The scholarship will provide for housing, books and tuition for a leading national university in conjunction with the Soldiers to Scholars Program that the nationally honored Dr Red**** started in Florida some 20 plus years ago. |
