My ex wife and I were married Methodist. She broke the vow's...I still have the bible used by the Pastor to marry us. I am holding on to it for my daughter later down the road. Although I am not a very religious person. I beleive in God strongly, but I do not go to Church. I feel that since she broke her vow their is a sin upon this bible used. Your thoughts please?

its not the bible that breaks the vows its the person...

i would say that the sin is on the person...not an inanimate object. keep the bible.

the sin is apon her not the bible, the bible didnt have anything to do with her breaking her vows ..

Yeah. I don't think it has anything to do with the bible. I agree about it being the person & I think your daughter would like to have it at some point. Just put it away for her.

I'm sorry to hear about that but the Bible did not sin, the person did, we are human, we make mistakes, the Bible never does.

I agree the bible didn't make her do it....
and ur daughter doesn't have to know the particulars... don't focus on what was done in the past... cherish the time u have with ur daughter... not what is missing from the picture and why.... |

I'm assuming to your daughter that bible may be a symbol of her parents love when it was untainted, not the other way around. Just a thought.

I agree with everyone else. Plus, the 2 of you truly loved each other when you married, and that is what the bible is from, so it represents true love. God has given us free will and will not take that away. Sometimes we make stupid and horrible choices that hurt other people. I'm sorry that she did that to you.

yes, she views it as that. we have been apart for 5 years and it's well over and moved past on. But my daughter would love nothing more to have her mommy and daddy together. we bot explain it cant happen, be she doesnt understand.

I am over it, less the damage to my daughter, but its more important to me to let her see that she has two very loving parents and she does |

There is sin upon everything in life, even the most faithful have their fair share of sin. Best to hold on to that bible and share with your daughter, it's what's in that bible which counts. One love and God bless;^]

I agree with all.....It is the person that sins......The Bible only show the way in which to live. I also think that Religion per say is overrated....If you believe in God and Christ that he died on the cross for our salvation...then for me all good.
I also think that if it's important for your daughter to have the bible...that you hold onto that...not the negative about what the bible means to you....It's the past....best to keep it there. |
