I just recently landed a position I really enjoy. I look forward to going to work everyday and sometimes wish I could just stay there I like it so much. The pay isn't anything to brag about. The commute is almost an hour each way and the gas is really expensive, The hours are inconsistent and I hardly get to see my son..... I just got offered another job only 15 minutes away from my home and its better hours and pay. Plus I have weekends off. My dilemma is I have only been at this job for a few weeks and feel so guilty by telling them I am leaving for another job. I feel like they really depend on me to be there....Should I suck it up give a weeks notice and take the one that would benefit me in the future or stay where I am at and be happy and work for peanuts? I don't know what to do...HELP! ohwell frown

Take the better job. A job is something you spend a good chunk of your life doing; it should be something good for you. They can hire someone else :)

You need to look out for number one...A business would cut you without thinking about it if it was in their best interest...not trying to be mean..nothing personal..just business. Just make sure your not jumping from the frying pan into the fire..just be respectful and tell them you have a better opportunity...Good Luck...

They wouldnt feel bad about letting you go if they were losing money in the company, and the only thing peanuts get you is an elephant

As long as you give required notice, there is nothing wrong with that. Your employer is prepared to replace any and all employees, it is their job so you are not lurching them as long as you give them notice.
