I am HEAR to complain about those who like QUITE nights in front of the fire, don't like TO many tattoos, and spell every other word wrong on their profile.

Spellcheck will get you a much more intelligent set of responses! Literacy is sexy!

Yup, you would use "Mommy's and Daddy's" if you were referring to separate objects individually owned, as in "Mommy's and Daddy's cars." (Mommy has hers, Daddy has his.) Singular object, jointly owned, and "Mommy and Daddy's" is the collective.

Either/Or

Neither/Nor

??

"Either" indicates an option is available, while "neither" indicates no option is available (of the possible choices named).

As in -- "You can have either the chicken or the duck."

As opposed to -- "Neither the chicken nor the duck is available anymore."

The first incorporates the concept of an actual option. The second indicates neither option exists.

So it's really just a positive vs. negative scenario....you can have one of the two vs. you ain't gettin' nuthin'.

Wow Lex, y'know I've never really thought about it. I just used what "sounded right" without realizing why one or the other "sounded right".

Oddly enough in many languages a double negative is actually stressing the negative connotation of the sentence.

Oh! Just thought of it!

Lex! - And anyone else interested....

You have GOT to check out engrish.com

TOOOOO funny! You can get lost in there for hours!

Yeah Zac, many people really don't like it when idiosyncrasies and quirks are pointed out, much less faults or failings.

I don't know WHY but this thread has just been hysterical to me!

Heck, half of the crapola that's gone on today has been terribly funny to me.

I know, sick sense of humor.

But I can't stop laughing!!

I correct the spelling and grammar of the people on here that I talk to frequently but generally I'm forced to just ignore it.

I must say that the spelling and grammar in a ladies' profile certainly has an influence on her overall attractiveness though, that's for sure.

"Im 22 adn i got 4 kdiz adn i lkie too drinke all deigh adn ntie adn wahct operha" does nothing for me. Well, it does help with Scrabble, but that's about it.
