Ok, so a couple minutes ago I had five essays done for a class...and the computer shuts itself off:angry: . Not thinking, I didn't save as I was writing. Is there anyway I can retrieve my essays?

You could hope that your writing program has an autosave feature, other than that you're probably going to have to start over.

I am not a genius with computers, but when that happened to me my buddy pulled up my files somehow. I hadn't saved them at all but he found em. There were parts missing at the end of them though.. but better than starting all over..

check recent document history, or try the listing when you open the program sometimes at the bottom there a list of recent things youve done flowerforyou

i know on my puter, i can hit start menu, then over on the right it says recent documents, you can try that!

I had a big assignment, did it and saved it and then 2 days before it was due, my laptop totally crashed and couldn't recovery anything from backups!!

I now save everything on my keydrive thingy!!

Were you using MS Word? Is so, you should be able to recover the docs.

No, it doesn't take me too long to write essays...so I was thinking I would just finish all of them and then save it. I'm never doing that again:tongue:

nothing is lost on a computer, it's there somewhere even if you delete it or format the drive it's possible to bring it back if you know how.
