So I have been getting mixed responses but many are quite derogatory and bit confusing also. Men want us women to be open about sex and have lot of sex and when we chose to do that why so many gaalis?
p. s. i dont mind gaalis i am used to it and even like some but just genuinely curious and want to talk more about this social dynamics ![]() ![]() |

The mixed and derogatory responses you’ve encountered reflect a common and complex social contradiction around women’s sexuality. Many men promote or expect openness and freedom in sexual expression, yet when women exercise that agency, they may face harsh judgment, slut-shaming, or “gaalis” (insults). This double standard is rooted in deep-seated cultural norms, gender stereotypes, and power dynamics.
Women’s sexual agency is often policed to maintain traditional notions of “respectability” and control over female bodies. When women challenge these norms by asserting their sexual freedom, it threatens those societal expectations and can provoke backlash. The contradiction reveals how society can promote sexual liberation rhetorically but still punish women for embodying it. |
