If I ask a gal out on a date ( yeah ! It's normally me doing the asking ) , I , make sure there is at least a little attraction or we click on some level .... and Based on that , I choose or suggest a place to eat ... then she can order whatever , drink whatever etc ... I trust she ain't gonna bankrupt me on the first date .. most women are pretty sensible about that .... my experience only !!!!
