For show if the gift clicks with the recipient, it can be useless, but funny or meaningful, and those will hold more sentimental value. Being surprised or knowing exactly what the agenda is?

Easter for me because I grew up in Maine and Easter meant good weather and baseball was coming. Fourth of July or New Year's? (Sorry, I sometimes forget how many international posters are here)

I'll wake up in the morning, grew up with nothing and was happy, don't need nothing to be happy. Things are just things. Wash your car on your own or go to a car wash?
