I'm wondering how people feel when things that are going on in society come up in otherwise fictional tv series.
Examples:
- law series Bull -> everyone ended up wearing face masks.
- Law & Order SVU -> the sad event with Floyd and police came up and suddenly they wrote racist and protest stuff into the series.
-> everyone wearing face masks

I stopped watching both series because of this. I watch tv for entertainment and relaxation, not to be exposed to the same stress people live under in day to day life.
I deliberately stopped following the news in 2015, I don't like it served on my plate via tv shows.

How do you feel about that? Do you think it's okay for producers to do this?

Would you be okay if they did NOT do this?

Is there added value of being exposed to these problematic issues that cause stress, anger, fear and separation among us when wanting to chill?

I really wonder why they feel they have to do this. Does the audience want this?
So in that sense, again;
would you be fine with it if they did NOT show actors with face masks, NOT mention the pandemic, NOT make police brutality and B&W issues part of tv shows?

I don't watch television.
But, I do know, there's almost no reality,
in "reality" television.

Hmm...I've never thought about this. I'm not sure I have a strong preference one way or the other. I saw Grey's Anatomy where they brought Covid into it. I didn't hate it, but I think it's nicer to have a break from the actual goings-on in the world.
