Topic: Why the need to post your whereabouts on social media all th | |

So we are not talking about Mingle? Yeah, he's vague. Social media. To me that's Facebook, Insta etc. Nothing to do with dating sites. Well my bleet of Social media is stop posting your photos and info of your children. Predators are looking. (Not you Crystal). Well, on Facebook you can also easily choose whom you share what with per post. And you can also be very selective who you connect with. I only accept people as friends that I know or can trust. Everyone else get deleted. Also, you can close off what's on your timeline from strangers. You got quite a lot of options. Not on Insta I don't think but that would also go against the goal of Insta. Mostly used to get a wide audience. That's why you use the hashtags. |

i think he means all social media sites in general , including those mentioned .... and he wants to know why people enjoy living , basically a fake life on them .... I for one hope , they are , otherwise it defeats the purpose of posting at all ..... I don't see what's fake about it? |

Lmao.. heck I do when I go places I post pictures..while on vacation or just having fun with friends and out for the night..
And well most sites everyone puts the town and state where they live, it is on their profiles.. Myself for those that don't want to, then don't.. It is up to each to post as they desire..regardless what others do.. Facebook is the only one I post pictures on and my profile is limited to friends/family.. Myself I enjoy seeing pictures of where they have went. |

A few years ago an acquaintance went to Scotland for 6 weeks, posting tons of photos. I was absorbing it all, enjoying it tremendously!! And when people react to your photos it adds to the feeling of sharing and some form of togetherness. One of the things I love about the net, the sharing. And if you don't want to share, well, then don't. |

Going on holidays, and put up a wee travel blog is alright. But then there is people who post lots of pictures, sitting in their local pub or stuff like that Well, don't befriend people like that or unfollow if you don't like it. Who are we to determine what another person should or shouldn't do and gets joy from? I don't enjoy seeing people posting so many dog photos, but then they might not enjoy me posting photos of my cats. We all have are own things that are meaningful to us and we as audience can choose what to watch or not. And let's be honest... it's better to see someone happy in a pub than someone whinging and whining for the umpteenth time. |

Spot on for heck my friends and I post pics when we are out to a club, due to we know the ones playing in the Band .. So we share the pics of the band and ourselves for normally we have a group that all meet up to watch them... Good times with good friends~~ |
