Topic: Pandemic, Profiteering, and Politics | |

When the whole world is trying to come to terms, in their own ways, the pandemic itself is a money minting opportunity, profiteers are hand-in-glove with the state powers! Not in all countries, but most! We have international bodies like the WHO, who sadly are trying, but with their hands tied behind their back! Forums of citizens, the world over, in various formats have raised their voice against these unholy nexus. We, as individuals, must air our evidential and constructive views too. TOMORROW WILL BE TOO LATE.

well that went well. taking on the number 1 controversy in the world right now, WHO, globalists and others trying to make sheep of the world with bribes and coercion no doubt behind the scenes...sweden the lone hold out on this world wide power play...no others will post showing if they are democrat or repubs, christian or atheists pretending their everlasting souls are not at stake and we are not in the last days...whatever...hot potato there bro, good luck...we dance around the issues and sugar coat stuff and put powder on it like make up trying to make it look good and soft like movies....the border...no crisis there, it's the beginning of the global solution, one world government....pretending it isn't fox asks kamala why she doesn't go to the border...she doesn't answer, it's their agenda...a few years from now when you are asked to take a mark for the latest world wide debit card don't say i didn't tell you so......wonder if this is too stark and will get deleted because....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j2F4VcBmeo

I am incorrigible. I'll spell out things, as they are. Just as war time shows that the corporate and state powers are hand-in-glove, this pandemic has been no different. But, we the tax payers have every right to question, and ask all the uneasy questions, that the "make-believe media" so nicely evade. The state powers are answerable to the tax payers who look after them. WHY should LIFE have a price tag?

Why does life have a price tag is a whole new thread of it's own...

Why does life have a price tag is a whole new thread of it's own... What veil? It has always been visible. But I appreciate your point. Big med companies have always dominated, politics is crazy and the rich and powerful are idiots. The most reasonable and intelligent people do not go into politics because the pay is rubbish. |

@Ladywind: Veil: If it's visible, we ought to talk about it. Our silence is not our strength, rather it gives the corporate a license to play on. I'm sorry, if I'm being too blunt on this!

I'm wondering why it is a mystery that if you give stimulus money to people who don't need it and can't get out to spend it frivolously.... they save it.
Give money to people who need to spend it today -and they will! There seems to be a push to get people back to work... but at a certain point, you can't even get or accept a position without a little money up front! |

Give money to people who need to spend it today -and they will! There seems to be a push to get people back to work... but at a certain point, you can't even get or accept a position without a little money up front! Absolutely. And that money that you directly put into people's pockets comes back into the market. |

TOMORROW WILL BE TOO LATE. Competition for resources is instinctive . Ask yourself what the potential threat of a pandemic is besides extinction ... Are you really that surprised by profiteering ?? How does the threat of recession or having to fight for resources in an over populated world influence social behaviour ? The human race as a collective , is far from altruistic in everyday existence .., Why would that be different during times of threat ??? |

@Blondey111: You have raised a few pertinent points yourself. The question is not so much about whether I or anyone has been surprised by the opportunism or profiteering; the question is should we just shut up and let things happen? Here, may I put forth few facts... Though I cannot go into the details of all of them here, as it may be a little out of place! Fight for the Resources: Specifically discussing about this pandemic: How is it that a handful of countries never ran short of resources? When most of the developed and developing nations went scrambling! Paucity of resources is not the same as mismanagement of available resources. I know, and hence I believe that profiteering, opportunism cannot happen without the approval of the state powers. The same state powers that we elect and pay for. Hence I am not surprised, I am unable to digest it silently.

Did India mismanage oxygen resources , or was it simply a complete failure to meet population needs ? |

Did India mismanage oxygen resources , or was it simply a complete failure to meet population needs ? Now, for the one's who can, we are purchasing cylinders! Is that fathomable? And just about anyone are selling cylinders these days, also available online! Why am I saying all this? Because this one basic thing should be the responsibility of the state powers. We shouldn't be paying a premium, TO BREATHE! So, yeah, we goofed up, on all fronts, and we are not ready to accept. I have a serious problem with this "denial mode"! This has motives. |

FEAR
Fear, is one of the best marketing tools. Create a run on anything, supplies and availability spiral downward, while profits and stocks skyrocket. |

Quite agree ... Breathing is a fundamental physiological need . The state should be ensuring all communities have access to oxygen including oxygen cylinders if needed and that no one should be disadvantaged . What Can the people of India do to make a difference ??? The global community is certainly aware and I hope other countries took stock of their own situation and are planning for worst case . Came across this article which explains further the points you raised , how the oxygen crisis unfolded and power roles at play ...Certainly alarming to read !! http://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/28/world/asia/india-coronavirus-oxygen.amp.html |

Yes the international community has left no stone unturned to be besides the people of India during these grave times, and I, in my humble capacity offer my gratitude and thanks. Yet what was shocking is, there has been no accountability on the aids that were received! There has been instances of concentrators waiting to be received from the airports for days! Now, all these are inseparable from other global goof ups though of a different magnitude. What we saw in Italy and the USA in 2020 could also have been averted if it were not for the myopic vision of the policy makers. |
