I think people sometimes mistake someone with a slower dating pace as playing hard to get. I say everyone should follow their comfort zone.

When I was younger I was accused of being or playing hard to get but I wasn't really. If I didn't feel something for the other person, some degree of attraction for them then I would just be going through the motion and that would not be fair for them or me. That was then! Now if I feel that small bit of attraction I will probably become a pest and never leave them alone.

Men take note ....If you are dangling a carrot and have no intention of ever letting them taste the carrot ., that is playing hard to get ... lmao
![]() If someone is just an option .. and you string them along ...flirting and teasing just enough to keep their interest , then pulling away or disappearing ... That is playing hard to get . Acting disinterested when you are in fact interested ....either as a way to slow progression of a connection ., or to test their interest in you ., is playing hard to get . Delaying gratification when there is a strong mutual romantic connection ..but continuing to tease , could be seen as playing hard to get ...Or could just be a form of foreplay/denial play ![]() the term “playing hard to get “ is a little ironic . Especially if the outcome of any playing is frustration rather than satisfaction . Depending on the “intention”. Playing hard to get could include elements of manipulation , attention seeking , teasing , uncertainty .or could simply be a “selective dating strategy”. |

On another forum, this subject was brought up. A few women were waiting for more messages from guys, they'd never respond to just the first one. I posted the question to them, what happens if it's just one and done? In their view, I wasn't trying hard enough. My opinion, they weren't the effort. That is plain weird... |

I'm usually willing to let a woman taste my carrot on the first date. ![]() |

Well that's a comment I have had to live up with too! But I really don't know how I'm responsible for it!
Maybe I'm slow at picking up the hints LOL |

What exactly is playing hard to get in your opinion people? When you really want a Man, but act like you don't by ignoring him often. Men do that too, play hard to get! ![]() |
