Traveled down to Robbie's Marina today for an interview. Robbie's Marina is one of the most popular places down here. Lots of cool shops, a restaurant, marina, kayaking, fishing, etc. This is only a portion of the whole area...



Of course you can't go to Robbie's without feeding the Tarpon, so I got a bucket of fish to feed them. They're huge! A little glare, but some of them are showing up..



I mistakenly set down my bucket of fish. This fella wasn't shy about coming up from behind me and helping himself, lol..

I absolutely love working outdoors, so I'm totally excited about working here.

Oh wow, River! Pictures are absolutely amazing, as always. It looks like a wonderful place to work. Just the surroundings should help to keep you calm and serene....way less stress as well, maybe.

It's 2 to 3 days a week, just what I wanted. I'll still be able to sub or clean on days off, or I can just go play, hahaha.

Thanks Dee And yes, I'll be posting more pictures of the area. It's one of the main tourist attractions in the Keys, so it gets really packed during season and on weekends.

But I figure because it's such a fun place and I'll only be there 2 or 3 days a week that I won't go too nuts

Those tarpon, I had to Google them. Holy crap... not my cup of tea, up to 2,5 meters long and 160 kilos?!?! Unreal! And scary, haha.
Can't help it, I'm not keen on anything that's cold, slithery & slippery.

In any case, seems like a great place to work!

Hi Crystal, yes tourist season is over at the moment. But it picks up again in November. Even without tourists, Robbie's is busy. It's a popular locals hangout as well.

Yes, the tarpon can get pretty huge and are definitely scary, haha. I remember my first time feeding them, I got a little close and they almost got my hand. They are very cool to watch.

Hahaha, I haven't watched "Jaws" in years. Now that I'm back in Florida, I don't think I will anytime soon, lol.

Yes, I'm in Key Largo and I work in Islamorada, 27 miles south from where I'm at. We're expecting to be affected by the hurricane on Tuesday to what extent is unknown at this time. I have to work that day, so hopefully it won't be too bad, hahaha.

@ Bonnie... Right now I'm in Wellborn, a little town near Lake City, Fl. My sister and her husband bought a piece of land there. We took a road trip to move the stuff out of her storage and bring it here.

It's a beautiful piece of property, in a wooded area. The night before last we stayed in Winter Haven at an adorable motel on a lake. I have awesome sunset photos I'll post after I get back to the Keys.

Bohemian life is pretty nice. I'm loving my job at Robbie's Marina, it has that bohemian feel to it. I'm still staying with my sister. There was a few unforeseen things that slowed the renovation process. But it's just about finished to the point of being functional, so hopefully I'll be able to move in over the next week or two.

Now that the weather is getting a little more tolerable and I've acclimated more to the heat and humidity, I'm planning to get out more to enjoy some of the watersports that my workplace offers. I get to do the activities for free.
Kayaking, parasailing, sunset cruise, and going out on the fishing boat. Season doesn't start to take off until mid February, so I have some time to take advantage of it.

My co-worker has Mondays off too, so she and I are planning to do some of those things together, or just hang out. I've never parasailed, I'm excited to try it, at least once, lol
