i think i'll give a gift to someone i like after hearing the anonymous part which leaves me a week. i remember in elementary school the teachers would say if u are going to give one gift u have to give all which made it weird but we got lots of candy...those heart things with sayings on them and cards... you reminded me when I was the teachers helper... in kindergarten... I had so much fun taking care of that holidays and all the others ...through out the yrs ... I got all the valentines cards ...filled them out so ever child got one with their name ... not sure... may have made cupcakes for them to ... an got the cards with the suckers that came with it ... those where some fun years for me ... first male teacher my daughter had ... cool ... |

I think I'm just gonna feel like a legal alien here, hihi.
Yesterday in a romantic comedy movie Valentine's came up and thus what big a deal Americans make it. I'm single on Valentine's Day!?!?! End of the world!! I understand it's different if you've grown up with Valentine's Day being like that. So I'm going to be an Alien. Totally unaffected by being single on V-day. And I hope you all have a nice one!

Logical, it is originally a European celebration. Just that in The Netherlands it never really caught on. I think it's big in the UK but not sure if over there it's the same way as Americans do. Here they have tried to push it as it's money business of course, but it just didn't work. I think in general, if people do something about it like a card or small gift, it's between partners. |

On tv today a man from Chicago Illinois is supposedly
In love with a woman in London England. They communicate by Internet/ video chat for one and half Years. They are not real young couple, they showed picture. He went to her once and met in person. 4000 miles. Flight got delayed because he had to take a Covid test to go further. Due to travel restrictions and Covid- restrictions getting together is not a option right now. Would you call that real Love ?

I celebrated with my boys. Since they didnt have valentines party at school we got valentine box kits from our local library and they made those. I stuffed them full of little cards and candies. I got them each a giant stuff animal that they woke up to on Valentines Day morning. We had our Valentine's day lunch on Saturday at our favorite mexican restuarant because I had to work yesterday due to possible weather coming in. Last night I made a charcuterie board with message heart candies and red hots, our favorite smoked meats and cheese, veggies, crackers and dips. I got sparkling welches grape juice that looks like little champagne bottles lol and I made chocolate dipped strawberries. We snacked on that and watched the princess bride and just enjoyed our time. They getting older so I cherish every second.
