why people they are afraid from distance relationship ? its the illusive obvious ...... |
|

I am not afraid of it. I would even prefer one. I am just not ready yet, to have somebody living with me.

Afraid?
No, it's more of an annoyance. |
|

why people they are afraid from distance relationship ? Most people want to date someone closer to home they can see and meet regularly, and dating long distance prevents that regular meeting, and could require them to relocate in the long term, which many cannot do for lots of reasons. It's their preference to only date local. |

why people they are afraid from distance relationship ? Things are more difficult from a distance. I don't know about being afraid of one. |

It can work for some and not work for others. It is a preference of those involved.

I have been watching them and it appears that the Americans dont do their homework before they get on the plane to meet their flame. It is either that or one of them lies. Using Rose and Ed for example. He lied to her about his height and that he did not want children. I would expect that a 20 something year old woman is going to want to have more children so if i did not want more children I would have told her before I left. He also asked her to get an STD test and was not willing to get one himself. He went to her house and complained about how she lived. What guy gets his girlfriend a toothbrush and listerine as a gift. I usually get my dates chocolates, flowers, or jewelry.
Using Tim and Jennefir as an example, What man is going to give his gf a makeover. If i have a hot woman in my hotel room I will be doing other things with her and a makeover is not one of them. I actually like meeting women online and going to meet them. I get to experience a new culture and if the relationship works out she can tell everyone how I travelled 1000s of miles to go meet her. I have no problem relocating overseas. I work as a TEFL teacher. I can easily find a job to support myself in any country that does not speak English. if i live in the USA i am always happy to see more immigrants as I see more potential customers. |

Because it is not real enough, too lonely and people can mislead you. Been there, done that and no thanks. What do you mean 90 day fiancee? 90 Day Fiance is an American reality tv series https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/90_Day_Fianc%C3%A9 90 Day Fiancé is an American reality television series on TLC that follows couples who have applied for or received a K-1 visa (available uniquely to foreign fiancés of U.S. citizens) and therefore have 90 days to marry each other. The purpose of the K-1 Visa is to allow time for the couple to make arrangements for and have a marriage ceremony, not to give the couple time to decide whether they will marry. Each couple has already signed document(s) stating that they have promised to marry, and given the signed document(s) to the US Immigration services. |

I don't believe in a 90 days fiance tv show!
I don't watch that. Many couples meet and spend time together while living in different States. |

I am watching Married At First Sight Australia. Two people let 'experts' match them. The marriages are not legal, but the couples who meet each other at the altar marry and then spend weeks/months together. Crazy stuff, but entertaining. |

It sounds crazy, haha. I've never watched 90 Day Fiance, I just remember someone posting something about it here on mingle a while back. So I googled it. I'm not a huge fan of reality tv, I prefer the make believe stuff, lol. |

I believe it is more about attitude , resources and shared goals . Some are are so influenced by the concept of falling for someone , they truly believe they have found love and allow that to take centre stage . The notion that love conquers all may be true .. but for that to happen the love needs to be real not fantasy . At some point reality hits and many long distance relationships just do not last the distance . |

The notion that love conquers all may be true .. but for that to happen the love needs to be real not fantasy . At some point reality hits and many long distance relationships just do not last the distance . Makes sense they'd do that for entertainment purposes. On the other hand, I can see where it might help eliminate some of the fantasy that goes with the concept of falling in love and running off to another country to meet your forever after. I agree with you about international relationships. I believe it's similar with any kind of long distance relationship, especially if they don't meet face to face quickly. It can easily become a fantasy world that's based on your idea of that person and being in love with love instead of the person, and that preconceived notion of how it's going to be when you do meet. Then months later, or longer for some, you meet face to face and suddenly you're strangers to each other, or discover there's absolutely no chemistry between you. Or somewhere along the way, you just lose interest. I do think it's possible for some to find success with it, but like you said, it's about attitude, resources, and shared goals. And a lot of patience and commitment to make it happen, quickly! Nowadays, with covid and travel restrictions, I don't feel it's very practical. |

90 Day Fiance and it's spinoffs are very entertaining. they are very produced, though, to the point of being somewhat scripted.
On distance relationships, they work for some, they don't for others. That depends on circumstances and meeting the needs of the people in the relationship. |
