I accomplished one goal, I stayed in bed until the crack of the afternoon. Now on to the next goal, should I get up, take a shower and head to the restaurant or should I take a nap? laugh

Did you try adjusting the tension? That often is the cause of thread jamming

It was working fine on the paper I was using for practice. Then worked on part of my ski pants. Then I moved the pants to a spot I missed and the bobbin started jamming up. Now it won't work on the paper either, I don't think I loaded the bobbin correctly. But I was at least able to get the bobbin thread to come up, haha.

It's an old Kenmore sewing machine, plus I don't have all day to try and figure it out. I suppose when I have a day to practice, maybe in a year to two laugh I can fuss with it using pieces of material. Something tells me though, that I'm definitely NOT a seamstress. ohwell

Thanks for trying to help. flowerforyou

Yeah, the tension (I had to look up what bobbin was, hihi).
Also, when getting thread on it you mustn't go too fast so it has an even nice spread on the bobbin.
Can also be if it is stretchy material and the pressure on that from above (not sure what you call that) that things go wrong.
I used to be a very good seamstress, made tons of things, but these days I don't do it anymore. And ifever something needs to be fixed I do it by hand as well, hihi.
I still have two large boxes with fabric for sweaters, dresses, etc. Currently busy chucking them bit by bit.

Telling Crystal and Delightful it wasn't me... the sewing machine broke, haha. It's being fixed right now. So maybe I won't suck as a seamstress .

Same. I hate sewing machines and have always seem by hand. I spend more time trying to fix my stuff ups than actually using the sewing machine lol. :rose:

Turns out I did mess it up, I threaded the needle wrong after it came loose, lol. I'll give it another try with the snowmobile pants that need mending. I'm determined to master the silly machine, haha.

OT... Relaxing after work, and enjoying my lunch.

If you have gotten the machine worked out, get a piece of fabric to practise on. Best way to learn, incl how the machine works.
Then it comes down to how handy you are. But if it's mostly about fixing some things, you will be fine :)
Just forego replacing jeans' zips. It is possible, but dang, what a chite thing to do!

Taking a lunch break, or at least trying to. It's difficult when I'm working by myself, haha
