Look at it this way... she's 18 and was a virgin (smart girl). She liked you and trusted you enough with that. She's trusting you now with her heart, like it or not. I think that you're just scared to get back into a relationship, and are tryin to find an excuse to not get back into one. You obviously see something special about her, as she does you. Why would you let a little thing like age stand in the way of what few people in this world share? No one says you have to jump into marriage because all she's asking for right now is commitment (aka monogamous relationship). But if it feels right in your heart, put those walls down and let her in, she's already done that for you. If you see an opportunity, take it. She doesn't need "life experience" to realize the man she wants to spend her time with. Don't make the mistake of thinking she does and let her get away if you know in your gut she's special. You'll regret it down the road when she's moved on.

KDE-why do I get the feeling you don't meet the qualifications of a virgin? |

Munch, there will come a point in your life when realize that nine years is little more than a drop in the bucket. Do what feels right and forget social mores.

im 19, and im dating a woman who is 36....but let me tell you something. just because a woman(or man) is younger than you doesnt mean that they dont have the maturity to hold a serious relationship down. always give them a chance before you look at their age.

seriously dude, your are over analyzing things. you got it made, if she is into you at that age. i have dated gals my age and they are even more niave and into themselves than teenagers. the fact of the matter is, if you leave her, she will find someone else most likely and there is a good chance that guy could use her and hurt her, and so don't think you are doing her any favors by breaking it off with her. to be honest if she date someone more her age, that kid will most likely use her and leave her hating men, so i say let it be and enjoy the possibility of being happy...

Age really is only a problem if you see it as one. If you guys were 50 and 59 it would not be so bad. The one thing that I would suggest is to beware of that magic age of 21 for her. I know of alot of relationships with an age gap break up because the newly 21 year old wanted to go out and party while the older one had already been through the partying stage.

Age doesn't matter to me as long as she is 18 or older, I don't want to be on Dateline or anything

Yea its the maturity thing. Even now I have a hard time finding people my own age who are mature enough to hold my interest.

Ok, I'm answer this in a different way than most I think. I am Dad to a 19yo, her boyfriend is 27. I have no problem with it at all. Like the girl you are currently seeing my daughter is very mature for her years and I wasn't too thrilled with some of the guys her own age she dated prior. Nor was she, I suspect in your case she is probably best off with someone your age.
Best of luck to you. Just respect the girl and enjoy and as I Dad I'd say there's not a thing wrong with it. |

age is just a number. i have an 18 yr old niece who i care about very much if she decided to date a guy my age (40) as long as he treated her very good and wasn't mean or abusive to her I would have no problem with that.

age is only a state of mind. i have my eye on someone who's 25 yrs older than me.. i hope that doesnt seem weird..but we arent goin out yet and i'm just interrested..

Numbers can be arbitrary when you apply wisdom to age, sometimes they don't always match up. Just because a person's older doesn't make them more mentally secure or intelligent, and vise versa.

Depends on the people. I have met some younger people way more adept than elder....en vice versa. Depends the person...the compatability, the philosophies. Sometimes it just works...clicks well. Age has nothing to do with it. As long as it is LEGAL!
