Please could someone explain the point of being nudged... Is it for people who can't find words to send a message 🤪

It's for people who want to use the least amount of effort to contact someone.

Perhaps they are shy and testing the waters .. hoping you will give them a sign of interest by nudging them back waving

It's just one of many different means of enticing attention.

What's the difference between a "nudge" on a dating site/app, and a "meaningful" glance or smile from across the room.

Do with it what you will.

If you want to start a conversation with them, go for it.
If you want to ignore it, more power to you.

As an adult human being you have the ability to put what meaning you want into vague social cues while not forcing yourself to adopt any chains of unknown expectations.

What point do you want a nudge to have? Did you look at their profile? Do you want to talk to them? Do you need for them to chase you?

I can tell you one thing. If someone "nudges" you, or gives you a great big smile from across the room, or buys you a drink, the point is never run off to an internet forum and ask other strangers what something means.

It's for people who want to use the least amount of effort to contact someone.

Same thing could be said for all internet/app dating.

App dating requires effort. You can't find out about a person by a nudge. You get out what you put in.

I expect to more likely find someone via active participation here in the forums rather than the meat market. I just delete 95% of every nudge, kiss and message I get anymore.

It's like "my friend likes you" for people who don't have friends :p

This thread reminds me...

For the pure sake of annoyance...
I should start blowing kisses to random profiles.

I agree with you completely. What's the point of putting in the least effort?

Is there a way to delete all the nudges in one go? Or to block nudges!

Unless "seeking attention" is an efforrt, you are perfectly right.

Well, I ignore them. None of these "girls" is within my e mail preferences anyhow.

Ok I've tried to set my age limits relatively high and I still get nudged, winked and blown kisses! Surely 40 year old men should be past that...

You can’t stop anyone from sending you winks, nudges etc nor stop anyone from viewing your profile. Learn to ignore.....I do happy

Setting email filters only prevents those that you’re not interested in from contacting you.
