I've never had a guy ask me to "hang out". If I met a guy and we talked a little and he asked if we could get together and hang out, I would not consider that to be a date.

If I go on an a date, I INSIST on paying for myself. I don't want him to think he is entitled and I think it is fair.
Times have changed. |

I check the box for the spoil date, but dates have a pretty good shelf life actually. I saw some Medjool dates today at Costco... I think i'ma git mee a box...
Silliness aside, if I was a "dater" ....I'm all for equality completely........ but for "dating"... I think the man should pay for the date. it's just a nice thing to show respect. For me, If I can't pay, I don't do the date. |

Here's what the Urban Dictionary says about the phrase "hang out"... http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hang%20out hang out Less serious than getting together or dating. Spending time with someone in the context of friendship or in the context of casually exploring whether you like someone as just a friend or maybe more than a friend. I think spending time together as friends just hanging out is a good way to know each other and see if you could stand each other's company. lol I agree, the definition here is my interpretation of what it means when someone says let's "hang out", at least one of my interpretations, lol. Like Cat said too, if a guy asked me to hang out I would figure he means get together and do something as friends, not an actual date. He could mean an actual date but is just saying hang out to avoid rejection... it is less intimidating to say "let's hang out" than "will you go on a date with me". The only way to know for sure is to ask for clarification. |

I can be such a man . If only I find the right lady who deserves it .

It's cheap. It lets the two people be casual and show their real selves rather quickly, instead of the very filtered selves shown on traditional dates.

A romantic dinner at Chuck E. Cheese, Bowling, A pitcher of stale beer. What's not classy about that? Is that a genuine question? Hmm... you can at least make sure the beer is good! And make it a Mac. In your time on this site, have you ever seen me ask a genuine question in response to these threads? |

Why do guys wanna "hang out"? What happened to taking a woman on an actual date, open door, be a gentleman, not worried about getting your dick wet, an actual dinner and movie or bowling something besides "hang out" make plans!! There's still gentlemen out there! I've been out with a few ! |
