Interesting find in the UK about a population that lived there before the Celts a culture more advanced than what we were told about our prehistoric ancestors

The list of advanced, ancient seafaring cultures,
continues to grow.

Very cool! I like reading about this stuff.
It fascinates me and affirms my ideas about more advanced cultures existing long ago, like the Atlanteans.

I'm pretty sure that for over 100,000 years humans have been making water craft of some sort, and navigating coasts and rivers and swamps. Just to get around, and to feed themselves. But things usually made of wood and kept near water, tend not to keep very long.

The first few shark and crocodile victims, and sufferers of exposure and hypothermia would have convinced early travelers that getting out of the water and on to a raft or boat is the way to go.

Interesting article.
I wonder if any giants made boats.

That's cool rock. I expect there are many more sites like this in water around the coast . Over thousands of years the coastline has eroded many miles in land.
About 40 years ago my mother and step father purchased a 14th century barn that they converted into a house.
In the process of doing more footings they uncovered the remains of a roman settlement and traces of iron age items to.
The crazy people from the archeological society came and had a dig and recorded the site.

Interesting!
And funny they call it Stone Age people, hihi. I haven't read it yet, but will.
In one of the Avalon novels Atlanteans escape by ship and a number go to the UK and mingle with the society already there. Of course the Atlanteans' culture and technology was more advanced, in many ways they were more advanced than we are today. We still cannot grasp the technology they had which was not based on anything that harmed the planet, no fossil fuel stuff.
I wonder how this is related, although 8000 yr old would not be old enough to be from that era.

Interesting read! And funny they mention Atlantis. I gather that the scientific world is (finally) beginning to take that serious as opposed to brushing it off like a fairy-tale.

But odd to read that they now have proof that the UK used to be connected to mainland Europe. I've seen or read the proof of that, thoroughly explained, donkey years ago?
I think it was a documentary about that. Must've been at least 10 yrs ago.

people have been building ships of some sort, and trying to navigate the waters of this world for about as long as there have been people.
[homo sapiens,anyway!]

the whole 'the earth is flat' story is a laughable invention that only the most gullible landlubbers would believe, because it is VERY obvious to anybody that has ever been out on the open waters that the earth is NOT flat, because you can watch both land, and other ships disappear over the curvature of the horizon with any distance greater than just a couple of miles.

unfortunately, though, most of the people that made these early sea voyages did not know how to read,or write, and in many cases, didnt even have a written language to record these voyages with,so we will never know exactly how far stretched their discoveries were, and all we have to work with are these few archeological sites that only tell us just enough to make us hunger for more knowledge about these amazing people who braved the waters before modern man started recording their voyages, and discoveries.

I never thought those folks walked all the way from Asia to the Americas.

I like seeing things such as this. It forces the idiots to choke on it. The complacency of them thinking humans who came before were stupid. Now the history books will have to be changed again. :sunglasses:

Got to see the changing of the timelines. Hopefully I'll live long enough to see them change more of the stuff before I'm dead.
