A ww2 cemetery has had graves and statues have spray painted with nazi symbols and writing a few days before the Dutch celebrate the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the occupation by the nazis.

Awful that these things keep happening. Not the first time, I guess it won't be the last... I saw on the same page Jewish graves had been desecrated in France. We've had that happen too.
Weird why some feel like doing that.

I have several jewish friends. Aside from them being just a little different, they're fine people. They don't preach their religion to me. I found, they are generous when needed. They expect value for their money, are very fair, and exceptionally honest. Cheat them, and you'll lose their trust, and you'll never work with them again.

I've visited many of both sides.
Pegusus bridge being a poignant one with both German and British relatives standing side by side.
This is a disgrace.

Isn't the desecration of
military graves becoming
pretty widespread?

Disgusting behavior.

Yes rock. people don't care anymore generations don't even know what they mean and there is definitely no respect for the living people let alone the people who died so they could be free!

I'm not supporting the desecration of graves, it's wrong, full stop
But I often, just don't get on board with the war stuff
I find it far more disrespectful to those that died, that Hitler and many of his cronies were allowed to go free, and yet that's lied about, and not what they teach you in school
Isn't that called 'propaganda'
And didn't they make a deal with some bloke called Stalin?
And then didn't we help start a war to create Israel, because it's only fair that they / we can be fascists too

Hi r2
You are right,in our school days I think they taught you the bits they wanted us to know. It's much more open now.
I think you can look at the whole 'war' thing in many ways.
Some study tactics some the machinery, tanks, aircraft etc.
Some because they had a relative they lost.
And yes, when Germany invaded Poland they had a deal with Russia and they invaded from the east. Churchill warned the government of the time but they were the same government that was appeasing Hitler before it kicked off.
Then Hitler decided to go for Russia to hence them fighting with us.
We did create a the state of Israel I think to give them a land of their own.
But no one in the middle east likes them so it wouldn't work where ever you put them.
And, that war shaped the world today. Mostly good.
